New Partner

Ming's POV

Partner?? Why on earth do I need a partner? I thought my job is to make Pha jealous?! What else does she want me to do now?

She didn't mention anything other than I will be having a partner, the venue and the time of my first meeting with my new partner. Oh! And she also warns me not to be late.

I'm now waiting at a cafe named 'Sakura'. White walls, wooden furniture. Simple and homey. At the back of the cafe, there are shelves full of books and magazines for the patrons to read while they are in the cafe. It's the kind of cafe readers will like to patronise.

And the songs they played are mostly soft sentimental love songs in English and Japanese. I like this place. Not too noisy or too quiet, it has a feeling of home where you can read, listening to music, have a cup of coffee or some snacks and relax at the same time.

Glancing at my watch which tells me that I still have ten more minutes sitting here, idly sipping my coffee and letting my mind run wildly before my new partner arrive.

I still don't understand why I need a partner.

I didn't have any information about this new partner of mine. Don't know the age. Don't know is a 'she' or 'he'. To put it bluntly, I know nothing.

But why? Why I need a partner? I thought my task has completed, my mission is over.

From the interaction between Pha and N'Yo these two days, I believe I have completed my task. Maybe they are not in the 'dating' stage right now, but I believe they are very, very close to that stage.

Recently, whenever they are together, you can almost see those pinky heart-shaped bubbles surrounded them, like those you see in the Japanese animation. And they make a lot of eye contacts, like they are communicating to each other without opening their mouth.

They are behaving like a dating couple. It's just that they haven't make their relationship official. At least not to us.

N'Yo is waiting for Pha, and Pha is waiting for a right timing. I can't blame Pha for that. N'Yo has just been through a nasty incident. I can understand that Pha wants to give N'Yo time to recover before asking him.

N'Yo and Kit were discharged from the hospital two weeks ago, and they have just come back to school yesterday.

Ever since they return to school, Pha and Forth are like guard dogs guarding them. They have their eyes locked on to N'Yo and Kit all the time, like they couldn't let N'Yo and Kit get out of their sight in fear that something may happen to them if they do.

No one can or will blame them for being overprotective. Kit and N'Yo had been through a terrible incident and they nearly lost them. Who knows what would happen to them if no one passed by when they were assaulted?!

I will probably do the same if the one who gets hurt is the one I love.

Forth is lucky that Kit is in the same faculty as him. On the other hand, Pha is the unlucky one. He has to travel back and forth between Art Faculty and Medical Faculty, but he seems like he's enjoying it.

The power of love.

No matter how far you need to travel between two places or how tired you are, a smile from your loved one has the power to close up the distance and erase all the tiredness you are feeling. A smile from your loved one has the power to make you do anything and everything for them willingly.

I kind of envy them to have someone they can hold on to tightly, to have someone they want to protect, no matter what it takes. I don't have that 'someone' in my life.
