I Can't Lose Him

Pha's POV

Fear.

Fear is all I can feel after receiving that call. I still couldn't shake off the feeling of fear even after I was told that Yo will be alright.

I still remember the moment I received the news, my heart stopped beating, my breathing had been cut off, my blood ran cold, my whole body went numb, pangs of fear shot through me and my brain kept chanting one sentence over and over again.

'I can't lose him.'

'I can't lose him.'

That's when I realised how important he is to me. Ming was right. I have lost the one I love once. I don't want to lose it again. I can't lose him.

At that moment, I was completely blinded by fear, I couldn't even think, let alone driving to the hospital.

Luckily, P'Cho was there and he volunteered to drive me to the hospital.

Looking down at the bandages around Yo's head and his pale face, I feel like wrapping my hands around the neck of the one who slammed Yo's head against the lamppost and squeezes every breath out of him, watching him gasping for air till his last breath.

He must pay for what he did to Yo! But that man, Sky, he won't let me have the chance to do what I want to do.

That Sky? If I'm not wrong, he must be from those families, those wealthy families, like that annoying sister-in-law of mine. They have the same kind of aura around them.

They won't take 'no' as an answer. No matter how much I want to get my hands on those thugs, I can't go against his 'order'.

There's no way I can go against him, especially with those men around him. They could easily take me down before I could lay a finger on him.

Glancing forth and back at Kit and Yo, something doesn't feel right. Something keeps bugging at me, like... like things happened here are not as simple as they seem to be.

I really want to know what happened when they were attacked and how they were attacked. Did the attackers say anything to them?

I sigh.

When will they be awake?

"Not sure, but that Sky said the doctor gave them something to make them sleep. I guess they won't be awake till morning."

"What?" I ask, puzzled, with a big question mark in my head.

Forth looks confused, "I thought you ask me, when will they be awake?"

"Oh! Sorry. I didn't realise I was thinking out loud. Sorry."

"It's ok. Sometimes I myself will think out loud too. Pha, it's very late now. You can go home and rest. I will be here with them. If Yo wakes up, I will call you." He says softly.

"No! I want to stay here. I want to stay here with him." I glance at Yo, then glance back at Forth.

He looks right into my eyes as if he is searching for something in my eyes. Maybe he just wants to know how serious I am about his brother. It's good to have a brother who really cares about you. I wish I have a brother like Forth.

Yo, your brother really cares about you and I have to be careful not to make you cry. Your brother will sure punch me if I let you shed a tear.

He stares at me for quite some time before he responds, "There's a couch over there. If you are tired, you can grab a couple of nap there."

Yo, I think I got your brother's approval.

I smile with gratitude, "Thank you, Forth."

"Don't thank me. I just want my brother to be happy. Take care of him and don't make him cry. If you hurt him, no matter where you hide, I will hunt you down and make you suffer. Understand?" He warns.
