FORTH POV

I pulled Beam back up onto his feet before letting go of his waist. He adjusted his shirt and smiled at me a little as his cheeks turned red.
“Thanks.” He said before turning around and walking back out to my car to bring the last box in.
Once we borught all the boxes in we started to set up. We were there for almost three hours but it felt like minutes, and before I knew it Beam was leaving to go on his date.
I sighed as I sat down in one of the chairs at one of the many table we had set up. We had got most everything done in the three hours, so I decided to take a break. I let my mind roam but the first thing I thought of was Beam and his boyfriend or whatever.
It wasn’t that I was like jealouse or whatever it’s just that he seemed like a total douche. How could Beam be with someone like him? He was so much better than that Bank guy. I was brought out of my thoughts by my phone ringing. It was my mother calling. I pushed the thoughts out of my head and answered her call.
I was now driving to a little cafe near out house to meet Beer. Our moms thought it would a be a good idea for us to go on a date. They had fianlly told me that they wanted me to marry her, and I had no choice but to go along with it.
“Hi.” I said as I walked up to the table she was sitting at and sat down across from her. She smiled up at me as I sat.
“Hi.”
“Sorry I took me a while. Traffic was shit.” I said taking off my jacket. She smiled and shook her head.
“It’s alright. I was a little late as well.” She said. I smiled and nodded. “To be honest I’ve been wanting to find a time to meet with you.” She said as she dropped her smile and looked down. I dropped my smile to and just looked at her.
“What is it?” I question.
“I wanted to tell you something, but I don’t want you to like take it personally.” She said. I nodded as she continued. “I don’t like you like that and don’t really want to marry you.” Wow. Blunt. I can appreciate it.
I started laughing causing her to look up at me surprised.
“You’re not upset?” She asked. I shook my head. It was the opposite actually.
“No. I’m not upset. I’ve been thinking the same thing since the first time I saw you.” I said laughing. She stared at me for a few seconds before starting to laugh herself. We laughed for a few more moments before sobering up.
“How are we going to tell our parents?” She asks. I shrug and shake my head.
“I have no idea. Maybe we should break it to them after break ends. Then they can’t really yell at us.” I suggested. Beer laughed and nodded her head.
“That would be a good idea.” She said nodding. “We could do that.” She agreed.
“Hey, guys.” Our conversation was interrupted by Beam walking up to the table hand in hand with Bank. I turned my head to roll my eyes before looking back to them and smiling.
“Hey.” Beer said smiling wide at her brother. “What are you guys doing here?” She asked. Beam smiled and turned to look at Bank before answering.
“Well, we just got done eating lunch and Bank wanted coffee so we are here.” He answered. Of course. Bank wanted.
“Do you want to join us?” Beer asked Beam, but Bank answered instead.
“That would be wonderful. Like a double date.” Bank said sitting down next to Beer and Beam next to me.
“Thanks.” Beam said. Beer just smiled and shook her head.
Bank started talking nonstop about himself, proving to me how much of a douche he was. How could Beam not see it?
Underneath the table, I could feel Beam’s knee lightly touch mine. I looked at him out of the side of my eye. He was looking down at his drink and slowly stirring it, not paying attention to anything. I felt like I should pull my leg away, but I didn’t want to, simple as that.
I could feel his body heat radiating off of his body. I also had this weird feeling in my stomach or head or whatever that told me not to move away, so I didn’t.
“Beam?” Bank called. Beam looked up and nodded slightly. “You ready?” He asked. Beam nodded and stood up, pulling his leg away from mine. Something inside me felt disappointed.
“We should go to.” Beer said standing up. I nodded and stood up along with her.
“Yeah. I have some stuff to do for school.” I said. They all looked at me weird.
“You’re on break. What kind of stuff?” Beer asked. I shrugged.
“I’m the head hazer for SOTUS. We are having the closing ceremony a few weeks after we come back from break. I have to get everything arranged.” I explained. Beer smiled at me and pinched my cheeks.
“You’re too cute to be the head hazer.” She said. I laughed and pushed her hand away.
“Shut up.” I said laughing.
“Aren’t you guys the cutest couple.” Bank said smiling wide at us both. We just laughed and nodded. If he only knew.
“I’ll see you at home.” Beam said before pulling Bank out of the cafe.
“Good. How in the world does Beam stand him?” Beer asked after they left. I laughed and turned to her.
“You noticed too. God, he is such a douche. He talked about himself like the whole time. Why is Beam dating him?” I asked. Beer smiled and sighed.
“They aren’t dating.” She said.
“What?”
“Beam told me last night. They aren’t dating. Beam is just going on dates with him because he feels like he isn’t going to find someone.” Beer explained. I looked at her confused.
“And he’s letting him come to dinner?” I questioned. She nodded and sighed.
“I think he likes someone else.” She admitted. This peaked my attention.
“Who?”
“No idea.” She said smiling before grabbing her coat and putting it on. “Let’s go home.” I nodded and grabbed my coat before we went out to the car and drove home.
I wonder who Beam liked.
