BEAM POV
__________________
Today was Wednesday. I didn’t see Forth yesterday. Today we were going to the movies. We are going to the movies. Together. With his friends. So, why am I standing infront of the mirror in my closet trying to decide what to wear? What am I? Twelve?
“What are you doing?” Beer asked standing at my door way. I turned around and sighed.
“Looking for something to wear.” I answered honestly.
“For what?” She questioed. She walked in all the way and closed the door behind her.
“I’m going to the movies.” I said looking back into the mirror, trying to hide my face.
“With Bank?”
“Forth.” I said quietly. She gasped.
“You are going on a date with Forth?” She questioned. I shook my head quickly.
“What?! No! We are going with some of his friends.” I said grabbing a shirt quickly and running into the bathroom so she couldn’t question me anymore.
“Have fun on your date!” Beer yelled through the door before I heard her exit my bedroom. I sighed and quickly got undressed to take a shower.
After my shower my offered me dinner but I declined. I figured that we would probably just eat after the movie. All of us. Not just me and Forth.
I stared at the clock on the wall and counted down the seconds until the time Forth told me he would be here. When the doorbell rang I quickly went to answer it, but before I could Beer had beat me to it.
“Hey.” I said walking up to the door, trying to look as calm as possible.
“Hey.” Forth said smiling wide at me. Why did I feel like a teenage girl going to prom or something? I was nervouse. Spent forever picking out my outfit. Forth looked cute. It honestly looked like a real date.
Forth was wearing a dark read long sleve shirt with a pair of slightly ripped jeans. It was paired with a pair of brown leather boots. He honeslty looked amazing.
“I’m ready. We can go.” I said grabbing my jacket and pushing Beer out of the way.
“Have him back by one.” Beer said as she waved to us like a mom said goodbye to her kid as he left on a date.
“Will do.” Forth replied smiling wide.
On the way to the movie theater neither one of us talked. When we got there Forth bought the tickets and we went to out seats.
“Why only buy two?” I asked. Forth cleared his throat and looked at the screen.
“My friends canceled last minute. I figured we could still come.” He said shrugging. I nodded. So it was only gonna be us.
“What are we watching?” I questioned.
“The Possession of Hannah Grace.” Oh great. A scary movie. What could go wrong with that?
About thirty minutes later the scary stuff started happening. I was fine at first, but then I started going South.
A jump scare happened and my first thought was to grab Forths arm and hide my face in it. I heard him chuckle causing me to slap him softly on the chest.
“Shut up.” I said. He just laughed again and shook his head.
Though he was laughing I could feel that he was tense, like he didn’t want me to touch him.
I didn’t stop though. I held onto him tight. The whole rest of the movie. By the end of it, I had a hold of his right hand with my right hand and was clinging to his arm with my left one. Not embarrassing at all. I liked it though. I like Forth. Shit.
I like Forth.
“Are you hungry?” He asked as we walked out of the theater. I smiled and nodded wide. He’s asking me to eat with him. One step closer. Maybe he does like me.
We went to a sushi place near both of our houses because it was getting kind of late. We didn’t order much, but we were there for almost two hours. We just got so caught up talking that we blocked everything out. It seemed like we were the only two people in the world.
It was something that was easy to do. Especially with Forth. He was easy to talk to. He understood like everything I would talk about. I tried so hard not to turn into a Bank, but Forth just made it easy to.
“Are you ready to head home?” He asked. I laughed and looked down at my watch before groaning.
“Oh come on. It’s only 11:30. Beer said one.” I joked. Forth laughed and shook his head.
“It’s better to get you home early, instead of staying and getting caught up again and getting you home late.” Forth said smiling and standing up. I laughed and nodded standing up next to him.
“Let’s go.” I said cheerfully and grabbed my jacket.
The drive back to my house was super short. It sucked. Hanging out with Forth was fun. For tonight I felt like I didn’t have to care about what my feelings were, or if he even liked me. It was just us.
“Thank you for tonight.” I said when he pulled into my driveway. He laughed and shook his head.
“Thank you. I had a lot of fun. More than I’ve had in a long time. Let’s do it again.” He said smiling and looking me in the eye.
We sat there and looked at each other for a few more moments, not saying anything. Forth was the first one to speak, and when he did it was quiet.
“Goodnight, Beam.” He said smiling. “I’ll see you tomorrow at dinner.” He said. Shit. I had completely forgotten bank was coming over for dinner. And Forth was gonna be there too. Great. Pushing the thoughts out of my head I gave him a fond smile.
“Goodnight, Forth. See you tomorrow.” I said before getting out of the car and smiling wide as I walked up to the door.
I unlocked the door and entered quietly. Everyone was probably asleep and I didn’t want to wake them. When I opened my bedroom door Beer was sitting on my bed, facing the door. I jumped when I saw her.
“What the hell?” I ask gathering myself up and holding my chest. She laughed and stood up.
“Just wanna make sure you got home on time.” She said walking up to me and patting my shoulder. “Tomorrow is going to be interesting.” She said before nodding and walking out. I groaned and closed the door before flopping down on my bed.
Tomorrow was going to be interesting.
Shit.
