The next day, the girls and I went to the Gracchus. We walked around and found our parents. The folks were talking about how to explain themselves. It wasn't hard for me to find them, of course, and I heard half of their conversation as well. I found the room they were in and I chose to waltz in and demand they explain. I saw their disgusted mom and dad faces and I shrank away with a measly sorry. I saw that they found this amusing and I asked now "What did I see at the party last night?" my voice shriveling a little at the end of the sentence. I guess I really was more shaken at the fact that my mom and dad were gods, along with the rest of the parents. They explained themselves, first by telling us that every child of the spirits endures an impossible quest and they earn the right to get what ever they wish. each and according to hydra's mom "every keeper recorded has chosen immortality and has became a god." Every thing any keeper ever did, built their status. It was a lot to handle. At the end of our conversation I was sitting down, my head in my hands, my eyes wide and I was watching. I was listening.
As we left I popped my sense bubble that I summoned with the conversation at hand. We were walking down the hall, and I suddenly was hit with a strong wave of sea salt and rain. Not literally, but I could surely smell it. Then, I saw a man, who looked to be in his mid thirties, maybe early forties, coming from across the hall. His Hawaiian shirt, khaki shorts, and flip-flops, clued me in on who this man was. Or rather who this God was. "Poseidon?" "What oh hello girls, how are you today?" We all started to stutter. "P-p-Poseidon? Wa-Wa How, Who . . . What?!" "Oh yes I remember now girls, time to go meet the half bloods, sadly I am the only one who could escort you; every one else was busy." Poseidon said, softly, like he was trying to calm us down. He probably always got stuck with this job.
He snapped and we ended up in a forest. It smelled like new York, or rather, of booze, cigarette smoke, and sweat. "New York. I knew that the girls had no idea when they looked at me weird. "What?" I looked at the top of the hill and saw my surroundings, I smelled more pleasant smells now and realized we were near a strawberry field. I noticed we were standing at the foot of a hill and I backed upt to look at the top. the whole area was lifted and what I saw at the top, nearly made me faint. I recovered from my shock, and I managed to ask a question. I said '' Hey Poseidon, why didn't Dionysus Come get us?" I knew the answer, but I wanted to ask anyways. He looked at me from across the street, gave me a confused look, and saw I was looking at a sleeping baby dragon and the golden fleece at the entrance to my dream summer camp. Poseidon smirked and told us to come to the top of the hill. When we got to the top every one realized where we were. I had to catch Serina and Phoenix from falling down the hill.
When they woke up Phoenix squealed and Serina tried to ask questions only to stutter and then together they did the happy dance. "Girls, welcome to camp half-blood. He waited, looking at the entrance, and then looked at us concerned, like we didn't understand him. I looked at him with confused expressions for a few seconds and then I realized he wanted us to go in. I walked forward with the girls following. Hydra was confused, but obviously it was because she only read Rick Riordan's first book. She knew what this place was and seemed excited, but she didn't understand the big fuss Phoenix and Serina were putting on. I did. I wondered if Rick Riordan knew what he'd created. I wondered if Camp Jupiter was also real and what would happen as his books were written. As if Poseidon read my mind he said " We don't have all day now, other camps to visit." With that I looked at my surroundings. I saw so many cabins, from the big three's cabins to the honorary ones, from the minor to the major, every thing was overwhelming. Then I hit the cabin covered in poppies. Their scent hit me faster that I thought possibly and I blacked out.
When I woke up I saw that they were walking to the mess hall. (I was being dragged there but any who) I awoke and I saw they were struggling to carry me so I started tip-toe walking until they noticed and let go. I yelled "Hey!" and landed on my hands and knees "Ow!" They lifted me up with help from me and I walked with them holding my shoulders.
When we got to the mess hall area and I saw a short scrawny kid half asleep sit at his table put his head down an go to sleep. We were aloud to sit any wheres because keepers had their own camp and we did not have a cabin or a table here. I sat with a demi-god I had created, (all though I didn't tell her that. That would be weird.)
It was explained as when a person creates a demi-god they create a child born to be the exact age that you choose. so if they created one today and gave it the birthday of January thirteenth nineteen ninety eight they'd be born on that day at a random time and they would grow up and be the age that they are to the day the creator made them on. So they basically came to life from the creators imagination. The creator can't make a demi-god old; it won't work. If a demi-god is destined to die before the certain day the creator made the demi-god it will not work and the demi-god with remain an idea. It can how ever be older that your age. It can be older, like in the mid twenties, or older than that as well.Cool right?
The girl's name is Lily and she is a daughter of Hephaestus. She was blessed with the gift of fire. We ate and became friends immediately. I met Leo, one of Rick's demi-gods, from his book. I met my other creations, as well. We sacrificed part of our meal to the gods and I thought it was really weird but I guess every one else did too. It did not smell like burnt food when the food got thrown in though. In fact the amazing smells were to much and I summoned a bubble. only Celestial Bronze or Imperial Gold needles could pop it and I carried both. I was glad I wasn't near the Ares table because They had all sorts of weapons that could work too. I asked why we were still here and Callie said that when I passed out they to stay until I woke up. I knew I passed out, but I didn't know I was out until dinner. Callie also said that they brought me along because they knew that the smell of food would wake me up.
Okay every one! Chiron, the centaur, half man half horse yelled to the camp. "It's high time we play a good ole round of capture the flag!" I looked at my friends and they looked at me. He explained the rules but we weren't listening. We were silently screaming. This game is hard and long.
The teams were decided. The girls and I had our own group. Athena cabin joined us and so did many more. I had no time to find out who else was on my team because as soon as it was decided, we started. I was worried. I called upon my sword. I had a concealer on my sword to make it something small enough to carry it. I have a charmed bracelet that when tugged on turns into a super wicked sword. It does not break, nor does it leave my side. The reason I was worried is because I had appolo's cabin and if their yell for fire blows some-one up I have some explaining to do. The game began.
