Jeno's POV

I silently chewed on my fries as I stared at the seat infront of me, my mind drifting off as I tried to take in what had just happened.

Oh. Damn, I just got played.

I slumped back on my seat as I glanced at my watch.

For what, though?

The place was empty which was pretty strange when it's dinnertime for most people. I had already lost my appetite after finishing the fries and the burger infront of me suddenly didn't look as appealing.

I pulled out my phone from my pocket and scrolled down my contact list, trying to find someone to vent out my frustrations to. Pressing onto Renjun's contact, I almost called him before stopping myself.

That motherfucker will make fun of me.

I scrolled back up as I rested my head on the palm of my other hand, staring at the screen boredly. My eyes fell onto the contact I had recently saved of the cashier boy.

'The number and the address are fake.'

..Are they?

I called the number as I got up from the booth and listened to the ringing. Grabbing my drink, I walked out of the restaurant and wandered around the street aimlessly.

The ringing stopped and the call had gotten through. I had expected an unknown voice to answer, but when I heard his voice instead, my drink almost slipped out of my hand.

"Hello?"

I pulled the phone away from my ear and looked around quickly, not knowing what to do or say.

Trying to make my voice deeper and less recognisable, I muttered, "Hello?"

"Who are you?"

Fuck.
What do I say?

"Wrong number."
I hurriedly ended the call and stuffed my phone back into my pocket. Pacing back and forth, I didn't know whether I should be happy that he had actually given me his number, or confused on why he had suddenly lost trust in me.

My phone rang once again and snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked at the caller ID and tripped on the edge of the sidewalk from not paying attention to where I was walking.

It had been from the number I had called barely a minute ago, and I found myself freaking out even more internally.

I accepted the call before blurting out, "Wrong number!" and then immediately proceeded to end the call once again.

Getting up, I brushed the dust off my clothes, but sat down on the edge when I saw that he was calling again.
My finger hovered over the answer button before I pressed it and brought my phone to my ear. Resting my head on my knees, I waited for the boy to say something.

"Are you done?"

"Huh?"

"I see you from here."

My head shot up as I looked around desperately, hoping what he said wasn't true. I heard him giggle before he broke out into laughter.

"You're so stupid."

"Where are you?"

"Do you see the park across the street?"

"Uh-huh."

"I'm right on the bench a good few metres away from you. Do you see me waving?"

I squinted my eyes as I tried finding any movement. My eyes landed on an arm extended upwards and waving wildly. I gulped as I waved back, hating myself for not noticing him in the brightly-lit park while I was walking around looking like an idiot.

"Yeah, I see you."

"Come here."

"I can't."

"Why?"

"I forgot my burger at the restaurant."
I turned around to walk back towards the restaurant, wanting to crawl into a hole and die for being so embarrassing.

"Forget that, it's probably thrown away already."

"I can't, I'm really hungry right now."

"Just come here, we can just share my burger if you want."

I stopped walking and turned to look back in his direction. With heavy footsteps, I walked towards him, feeling guilty for calling him when he told me not to.

I saw him end the call and did the same. He moved to one side of the bench, giving me space to sit and I sat down on the very edge.

"So, why did you call?"

He turned towards me and folded his arms as he leaned backwards on the armrest of the bench.

"I don't know, I just wanted to see if what you said was true."

"I guess it isn't, huh?"

"Why did you say that, then?"

"Not sure. It felt like you weren't really someone genuine, but I guess it's just how you are, clumsy and all."
He grabbed his burger from beside him and unwrapped it.

"How long were you watching me?"

"I saw you when you called me the first time."
He took a bite of his burger before holding it out to me.
"Want some?"

I nodded my head and scooted towards him, cautiously reaching out for it as he chewed.

"You're okay with sharing food but not physical contact?"
He brought his legs up on the bench and hugged them as he fixated his gaze on me.

"Yeah, I guess."
I moved away the wrapping from another side of the burger and bit far away from the markings of his teeth.

"Are you saliva conscious?"

"A little bit."
I handed it back to him as I chewed.

"Then.."
He took another bite right where I had taken my first bite.
"Do you believe in indirect-kisses?"

"Uh-"

"Your turn."

I stared at the burger in his hand before leaning down to take a bite where he had last bitten.

"Does this mean we kissed?" I asked, confused at his logic and saw him giggling at my question.

"I guess it does."
I saw a glint in his eyes as he placed the burger down onto the bench before getting up.

He stood up directly infront of me before leaning down to meet my eye.
"Or, do you want to kiss.. for real?"
