Gene's Promise

I sat up on my bed and rubbed the tiredness from my eyes. I stood up and got out of bed. I heard my phone ring and I saw that it was my mom.

   " Hello? "

   " Y/n, your principal called and said you weren't at school. Were you skipping? "

   " No. I got sick. These girls were bullying me yesterday. They locked me in the bathroom and doused me in water. I was locked in school all night. I got sick and I decided to come home and get better. "

   " I see. I'll inform your principal. "

   " Okay Thank you. "

   " Bye. "

   " Bye. "

I set my phone on my bed and I stood up. It was 4 o' clock. I stretched and grabbed my phone while walking downstairs. I grabbed a pan and was about to heat up some F/f when my phone rang.

   " Hello? "

   " Hey, Y/n this is Gene. "

   " Hi Gene. What's up? "

   " Nothing much I'm just about to put my plan in action to get Sasha and Zenix together. want in? "

   " Sure. Where at. "

   " At the mall. "

   " On my way. "

I hung up and ran upstairs to get dressed.

I started walking towards the mall. When i got there I saw Gene at the entrance. I walked towards him waving.

   " Thanks for joining me kitten. "

   " Stop calling me kitten. "

   " Why's that kitten? "  

   " You're not my boyfriend so stop calling me kitten. "

   " Maybe that'll change in the future. "

   " Doubt it. "

   " Okay we'll discuss that later. Now, Sasha and Zenix are walking around the mall and should be walking by this spot any minute now. Here's the first part of the plan. "

I nodded and opened my ears to listen to his words.

   " You are going to go and hide on that part of the bridge and hold this end of the string-"

He held a string out of his pocket. It wasn't even string it was fishing wire. They wouldn't be able too see it. 

   " -then I'll be over here and hold the other end. It'll trip Sasha and Zenix will have to catch her got it? "

   " Got it. "

   " Okay, there coming. Here. "

He handed me one end of the wire and I walked towards the bridge. I got in position and held the wire tight. Gene held it tight as well making sure Sasha would trip over it.

   " I don't know Zenix. It's really- AHHH! "

she tripped on the wire. Before she could hit the ground Zenix caught her and held her up by her waist. he was blushing a deep red and Sasha had a light pink dusting on her cheeks.

   " Thanks Zenix. "

   " Y-Y-Ya. "

He helped her up and they continued to walk. Gene walked over to me. I handed him the wire back and he put it in his pocket.

   " Good job kitten. Now, part 2. "

( Time Skip )

We were now at the food court. Sasha and Zenix sat at a table near us. Gene and I shared F/f while we talked about part 2 of the plan. 

   " So this next part is the final part of the plan okay? "

   " Okay. So what are we going to do? "

   " Just watch and keep your eyes on me. Don't turn around no matter what. "

   " Got it. "

A man walked over and gave us another basket of F/f. Gene took it from the man and he walked away. Gene stood up and chucked it at Sasha and Zenix. He quickly sat down and stared at me. 

   " So let's talk and make it look like I didn't through that. "

   " Okay. "

   " Who did that!" 

Gene and I stayed in the same position an just stared at each other as we finished off our food. We sat there until it calmed down. 

   " Okay now you can look. "

I turned around and looked at their table. The food had hit them. Zenix was currently trying to get the contents of it off of Sasha.

   " Nice hit. "

   " Thanks. Now watch. "

I continued to watch the scene in front of me. I watched Sasha tell him something and then she kissed him. I turned back around and smiled at Gene.

   " Looks like our mission was accomplished. "

   " Ya. Now let's go kitten. Before they see us. "

I nodded as we walked out of the mall. 

   " I'll walk you home. Where do you live? "

   " I live this way. Just follow me. "

   " Alright. why weren't you in school today? "

   " Oh I was- "

   " Ditching? "

   " Nope. "

   " Dang it. I thought you had some evil in you. "

   " No I was locked in the school all night because these two girls drenched me in water and locked me in the school all night. I woke up that morning sick and cold. So I walked home and rested, "

   " Who were those two girls? " Gene said in a menacing tone.

I looked up at him and realized his smile fell. He was now glaring at the sidewalk.

   " I don't know. they locked me in the bathroom and dumped the water on me. I escaped the bathroom and no one was left in the school. "

   " Don't worry. They'll get what's coming to them. So Irene help me they will. "

   " How do you know? "

He shrugged.

   " Just do. Is this your house? "

I looked away from Gene and looked at my house.

   " Yes it is. Thanks for walking me home. "

   " Not a problem. If anything like that ever happens again tell me. I'll take care of it. I promise. "

   " I will, and you call me next time for another one of your plans. "

   " I sure will kitten. "

   " Bye, Gene. "

   " Bye, kitten. "

I walked inside and shut the door behind me. I leaned against the door and smiled. He wasn't so bad. Laurence must have been thinking of someone else. Gene is sweet and nice. I walked upstairs and fell asleep quickly.
