The man came with our check and set it on the table. I started to reach for it, but Laurence snagged it from me before I could reach it.
" Forgot I was paying did ya? "
" I did, but let me at least pay half. "
" You won't stop bothering about it, will you? "

He nodded his head and held his hand out. I handed him half of the check and he paid his half. He set the check down and we started to leave. I looked towards Garroth's table and saw Ivy standing there arguing with the waiter.
" Garroth seemed to disappear. "
" More alone time with me. "
" Laurence! I'm worried about where Garroth went. He's our friend. "
" I'll text him right now and ask. "
" Thanks. "
He brought his phone out and texted Garroth. It didn't take long until he replied.
" Garroth said he had to leave early. He's sorry. "
" Oh, I see. "
" Looks like Ivy got to him. I'll walk you home. "

We started walking towards my house. We passed by a few shops on the way. We passed by this one shop and Laurence asked me to wait outside for him.

" What is that? "
" A little surprise for later. "
I rolled my eyes and we continued to walk. We got to my house and I unlocked the door. I looked back at Laurence and smiled.
" I'll thank Garroth tomorrow, but thank you, Laurence, tonight was fun. "
" Well, thanks for inviting me. "

" Here this is for you. I picked it up earlier for you. "

I set the cube back in the bag and lunged at Laurence in a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me back.

I pulled away and looked at Laurence's face. He had a small blush covering his cheeks.

" You better go. I need to get inside before my parents see us. "
