Meet The Demigods!

*VERY EMOTIONAL CHAPTER, SPOILERS FOR TBM*

Yeah, my friend Rachel gave me this idea. Thanks Rachel, but I cried hard.

So we never got Reyna, Nico, Thalia, Percy, Annabeth, Hazel, or Frank finding out that Jason died. So that's kinda what I did...Reyna, Hazel, Frank, and Thalia finding out Jason died.

Yeah, I know.

So! Rachel's Theory started with her wondering if Piper would have a new love interest. Then, she realized, what if Piper became a huntress? A Hunter of Artemis?

But wait, there's more.

What if Thalia quit the Hunt?

This is kinda out of character, but hear her out. Rachel's Theory suggests that Thalia realizes, after Jason's death, that life for her friends are too short, and she doesn't want them to grow up without her. So, she gives up her spot, and gives it to Piper. Why?

Because she took care of Jason, and Thalia trusts her with her adoptive sisters.

Emotional, right?

So this is based off of my friend Rachel's very own Rachel's Theory! (I made up the name Rachel's Theory. Yeah.)

Also, I know Leo and Piper didn't come with them to Camp Jupiter in Trials of Apollo, but who cares.

LET'S GO!

"Apollo, we welcome you!" Reyna called, and the entire camp surrounded. "Hunters, we welcome you, as well!"

"T-thank you," Apollo stuttered. "This is my associate, Meg McCaffrey, daughter of Demeter, err, Ceres, and as you Romans might know, these are Leo Valdez and Piper McLean."

Hazel and Frank sped over to Piper and Leo and hugged them happily. Piper and Leo gladly obliged to hug back.

"You're just missing Jason," Hazel laughed, "where is he?"

The group went silent.

Thalia Grace stepped forward. "Piper, what's going on?"

"Do you want me to-?" Apollo started.

"No, I'll explain," Piper sniffed. She walked to the center of the camp, where everyone was surrounding.

"Camp Jupiter," she announced, her voice shaky. "On our quest through the Labyrinth-" she stopped, and tears streamed down her face, along with Apollo's group.

"Piper?" Frank asked, his voice barely a squeak.

"Jason Grace is dead!" she blurted, and Piper cried harder.

The crowd was taken aback. No, there was no way Jason Grace died. He was a hero. A Hero of Rome. A Hero of Olympus. One of the Seven! There's no way.

"The girl lies!" Terminus declared.

"Piper's telling the truth!" Leo screamed. "Don't you dare say otherwise. She's telling the dang truth! My best friend is telling the truth! My best friend is dead!"

Piper was crying so hard she was on the floor. She tried to wipe her eyes, but she was shaking so bad.

"I-I let him die brokenhearted," she whispered. "I'm so sorry."

I looked around. Hazel was crying onto Frank's shirt, and his eyes were watery as I'd ever seen. Reyna was crying, but she was trying to hide her tears. I turned, and Thalia was stuck in shock.

"No," she whispered, "no, no he's not dead. Not again."

Thalia backed away and tripped, and her eyes were full of more water than an ocean.

Reyna stood in her place, and looked up at Piper, who was still crying. She walked over sadly and stood in front of Piper, and she looked up at Reyna. Reyna reached down and hugged Piper, and stayed that way.

Thalia came running over and hugged Reyna and Piper.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Apollo announced, choking up, "the three most important girls in Jason Grace's short life. Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano, his best friend, Thalia Grace, his sister, and Piper McLean, his girlfriend and best friend."

"His body's in the plane," Leo murmered, "for a proper Roman burial."

...

"Put his glasses on," Piper insisted.

"Piper, I'm sorry, but, he's not supposed to have any accessories on," Dakota explained.

"Dakota, put his glasses on," Piper teared up. "He can't see otherwise."

"Piper, he's-"

"Dakota, I know he's dead!" Piper cried. "But put his glasses on!"

"I second that," Leo called.

"Third," Reyna wiped her eyes.

"Fourth," Thalia sobbed.

"Fifth," Hazel nodded.

"Sixth," Frank wrapped his arm around Hazel.

"Okay, fine!" Dakota interrupted. "I'll put his glasses on."

Piper watched as the glasses were placed on Jason. She turned to Thalia. "Thalia, I want to join the Hunt."

"What?" Thalia asked. "No, no I'm already giving up my spot."

"Wait, you're giving up the Hunt?" Hazel asked.

"Everyone's growing up without me. I don't want to die 90 years later completely alone," Thalia shook her head. 

"Piper, if you really want the Hunt, you can be our Lieutenant, if Thalia leaves," Artemis nodded. Piper nodded. "I'll initiate you after," Artemis said.

...

Halfway through the ceremony, Piper, Leo, Reyna, and Thalia had to leave the room. I don't blame them. The most important people to Jason, and he was one of their most importants. I couldn't feel worse.

Now, looking back on it, knowing Jason is alive, it's different. Reyna is happier than you could imagine. Hazel and Frank always had smiles on their faces. Piper isn't part of the Hunt, and Thalia went back. Life changed for people without Jason.

All I know is that they're happier now.
