So basically this is if Piper and Jason didn't break up before he died. Like, they were still dating. Piper didn't call it off, she didn't move to Oklahoma, etcetera.

Also, this is why Jason's alive through the rest of the series. So I guess it's like a backstory for this story.

So as you can imagine it may be a little upsetting. I'll chill with Jiper after this, I swear.

Hey! I'm Sydella Morgenstern, but I hate  my first name. So I go by Syd. I'm a daughter of Apollo. Greek  Apollo.

I arrived at Camp Half-Blood a few weeks ago. And as I was told by my half-siblings Will and Kayla, camp was usually a lot  happier.

Everyone was gloomy. Especially the famous campers, such as Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and Leo.

But especially  Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite.

Now listen, I may have a teensy tiny crush on Piper. And as far as I know, she's not dating, so maybe I can ask her out after her grieving? For whatever she's grieving for.

I hate  not knowing things. So one day, I decided to ask Kayla what was going on.

"Alright, Kay, why is everyone so upset?" I asked.

Kayla sighed. "We just lost a hero."

"Who?" I asked quizzically.

"Jason Grace. Son of Jupiter, Hero of Olympus. He was wildly known around camp, so that's why everyone's so upset. He was basically friends with everyone." Kayla sighed again and shook her head. She blinked away a few tears. "I can't even begin to imagine how Thalia or Piper must be feeling."

I nodded.

At the campfire, I watched Piper sneak away. So I kinda followed her.

Listen! I wasn't stalking  her, I was just going to go find her and make her feel better. But then, when she made it to the dock, I kinda sorta hid in a bush...

I watched Piper take deep breaths, and then finally collapse onto the side of the dock. She sat up weakly.

"You wanted a tragic love story, mom?! Well, you got it! Happy?!" she yelled. Piper broke down crying.

I was speechless. What was she talking about?

I was about to go out and comfort Piper, when a gleam of light showed up and showed a woman with black hair and brown eyes.

"Mom?" Piper half-grumbled half-whimpered.

"Listen, Piper. I had no control over Jason's death. I had plans for your wedding! But deaths are all the Fates' doing. You shouldn't blame anyone. Jason gave up his life for you, and your friends, you know that right?" Aphrodite explained.
