Eventually we're both ready to go.
"I'm stronger than I used to be you know." he says getting into a ready stance.
"I am too." I say staying straight up with an arm behind my back and the point straight up.
"I'm a little rusty in the way of proper fighting so I'll use that instead." I say and he smiles. He thinks he has the upper hand. We start slow with a few parries but eventually we're whirling around. Half way through I change to a different style, which confuses him a little. A few blows after that I disarm him.
"I win." I say and put the sword down. He frowns and picks his sword up.
"Now I'm remembering why I was starting not to like you." he says and I hit him in the chest.
"Come on. It was just friendly competition right?" I say and he chuckles shaking his head.
"I was trying to win, but no matter. It's been a long time since I've lost. That just means I have to get better so I can eventually beat you." he says his hand clapping my shoulder.
"Minnow is waiting for me. Let's spar again tomorrow." I say and bid him farewell. Minnie and I head off to the rose gardens where we find the Princess pacing around, with the rose I gave her in her hands. Deep in thought.
