My aesthetic: tea, horror video game soundtrack and dogs distracting me

I'm not sure whether I'm in control of my body anymore. Is this a pathetic attempt to get to mum? Is guilt paying its toll on me? I don't know... all I feel is an immense pain in my chest and lost. Like a complete stranger to this world, my own body and mind. Why did I think this would help me? I guess I don't think of this as a solution but something else played a part in my decision to enter this church- the priest. I'm not that spiritual, but even I can tell his aura is eerie, creepy, odd, everything I'm drawn to so naturally I had to know more.

It's so cold inside, I rubbed my palms together as I stood at the entrance and examined my surroundings. As expected, the spirit of this ghost town is visible even here. The church is practically in ruins, signs of people spending their time here are visible but it's only because they don't have that many options. It's either this or praying at home which apparently isn't acceptable to all? My footsteps on the marble floor echoed, the only sound available aside of wood creaking and wind running through cracks in filthy walls. The main source of light is coming from outside, although I find a bit confusing. I thought it was daylight yet it seems like dark fell already and moonlight led the way. Going through the aisle, I stopped in front of what's supposed to be a tiny altar with nothing on it. Next to it is a giant wooden cross with a poor statue of Jesus on it. What's the meaning behind it being wrapped up and tied with ropes? It's like they hid a carcass in there but that's just my imagination going wild. Also, the crown is on top of it, everything looked so ridiculous and like it's done intentionally to mock it. Although I did see a priest enter, it shouldn't be abandoned then, right? The thing is so intriguing, I want to see what's behind it so badly. I reached out my hand to feel the fabric

"What a curious child", quickly I pulled my hand back and saw the same priest standing a few meters from me

"Haven't you heard of the saying curiosity killed the cat?", yeah, I've been told that many times. Each time I'd think of a smartass comeback but not this time. Priest's movements are so swift it seemed like he's hovering and not walking towards me. His smile never left his face which I didn't find so endearing, he's also much taller than me, thin as if he's ill, his skin is wrinkled and head bald. Dark circles around eyes are another sign something's not right, and his voice reminds me of the wood creaking I heard moments ago. I got to see his disgusting eyes when he leaned closer to my face, they resemble Wood Killer's empty, pale like in a blind person ones and I took a cautious step back

"No reason to be scared. We're in the middle of Jesus' heart, nothing bad will happen to you", of what? Usually, I'd scoff at such words. All I could do now is nod and hope he understands I have some questions regarding our encounter. Indeed, he gestured with his hand to enter a tiny room with a bookshelf, candles and a table in the middle. Obediently, not to test his patience, I took a seat and tried to appear smaller than I already am

"Could you show me your hand?", his slender fingers waited in front of me. I hesitated at first, how does he know something's on it? Even if it's a wound, why would he care? This must be about Hana's mark. Removing the bandages hurt and I flinched slightly not to interrupt him in the process. My hand is shaking and completely covered in blood. He took out a dusty box of first aid kit and eventually managed to clean it for a second to see the mark as blood flowed mercilessly and covered it again

"That must hurt a lot, you poor child", it sounded like a pathetic attempt to get my sympathy or something which I didn't fall for, in fact, it made me more suspicious of him

"Why am I here?", I asked out loud and felt no shame since his actions are beyond confusing

"I want to save you before a catastrophe takes place. You're too young and unfamiliar with certain things to sign a contract with... a demonical creature"
