I turn around in his arms, shocked by his confession. He's blushing, looking down at me.
"Err, I mean, when you were friends with Elspeth, it was always you I looked at first," he mumbles shyly.
I grin. He has no idea what his words are doing to me. Inside I am soaring up above the clouds, rising and flying high.
"Come on!" I shriek, grabbing his hand and pulling out of the water after me.
We spend the rest of the day doing the kind of stuff the old me used to do. I have never felt so alive before, as I eat the sugar coated doughnuts without licking my lips.
"You licked your lips!" I squeal, pointing at Noah's mouth, staring at it like some crazed loony.
I start out of my daze as he waves his hand in front of my face. Embarrassed, I look down at my lap before feeling the warmth of his hand on my neck as he pulls me in towards him. And then we kiss. Every cell in my body tries to move closer to him, and then I do it. I laugh into his mouth, sending hot air rushing through my teeth."Oh my god! I'm so sorry-" and then I hear it. The soft laughter coming from behind the Portaloos, and I can tell she's laughing at me.
"It's okay," Noah whispers and I listen to him, finally licking my sugar coated lips.
