"Nyla run!" I shout slipping down the leafy hill into the center of a field. Two men held Nyla by her hair. She doesn't seem excited by my presence instead she subtly shakes her head. Anyone else would have taken that as a warning but I see it as opportunity. I stand there still as men began to surround me. The alpha said to protect Nyla and that's what I'll do.
Quincy saved me from the same predicament and I've never repaid him. What better way then to help his daughter?
"Leave her and I'll spare your lives," I announced.
The men let out husky chuckles, they took me as a joke. But the joke was over as soon as every bone in their bodies cracked, broke down, and retransformed. Three sandy colored wolves and two dark brown ones were growling at me.
I knew I'd have to fight sooner or later. Here goes nothing. I cocked my head to the side making it crack and kneeled down into starting position.
My arms were the first to snap. When I first turned my mother told me the most dangerous thing about being a wolf is getting used the the pain of transitioning . Once your immune to your pain you wolf can't control you from using your wolf side for bad.
I let out a growl pouncing into the center of the circle with weak Nyla surrounded by wolves.
At once the wolves head for me. At the last second I make a swift move out there way causing each one to knock heads and collapse. My timing was almost perfect. One of the wolves managed to bite my tail.
I lift Nyla up, cradling her in my arms.
"Its okay Nyla. Do you know anywhere safe?" She nods her head slightly pointing into the forest. "It's also quite an honor to save Nyla Thyroid the badass." I added. she tries to laugh but she whines and clenches her head.

Nyla's body darts up from her slumber. I rush over to her and place my arm on her hand so she can relax a little .
"Calm down. Your woke now,"
Took her long enough. Her eyes flutter around the room. After she realizes her surroundings she lets out a breath and a faint smile.
"How long have I been asleep?"
"Three days," I answer plainly.
Her eyes widened. Then turned into panic.
I'm the one that should be upset, I was lonely for three days.
Nyla quickly grabs ahold of my shirt through instinct and panic. I hope my face isn't turning a different shade than mocha. I look down at where she's gripping me and her face flushes of embarrassment slowly releasing me. I then sit beside her on the bed.
I look around at our surroundings, I have no idea where she directed us. Some type of cave. They're paintings of pirates, kids, and a powerful wolf head. I'm assuming a child transitioned here with their family once.
"Nyla you need to tell me everything," I command as gently as i could fathem.
My attention resorts back to her. She's already looking down as though she knew this conversation was coming.
"Nyla," I repeat making her look at me.
Eye contact is very important to me. She huffs scooting to the edge of the bed, facing me.
"Ok so I found out something..." She started.
I raised my eyebrow for her to continue. I hate when people drop a bomb and take forever to tell you. suspense is not necessary in life or death situations.
"Tell me Nyla," I again, demand as gently as possible.
I'm starting to loose my patience. I've been waiting three days to hear bad news. Every time I'm given something it's taken away, nothing is forever. Not my mom. Nor my father. And not probably Keeyln. And not... Nyla either.
"D-do you uh still have that book?"
"Yeah," I nod grabbing it from a far corner.
I hand it to her cautiously as if it may explode. She opens to a page like it was her own, like she's read it before. Her face saddens as she reads, but theres no surprise.
"Nyla do you know something I don't?"
She sighs slamming the book closed.
"I didn't tell you everything. I knew Gail was your father and this isn't your mothers book,"
How do I react to this? I thought I had something that belonged to my mother and that was taken too. I balled my fists up and my claws entrench in my hands.
"Sanders calm down before you wolf out on me," she tries calming me but her heart rate makes me loose when not control.
My breathing is unsteady and my hearts pounds so fast I feel like I can't breath. Nyla's hand reached me trailing down my chest and immediately calming me down. When my heart is steady I grab Liars hands pushing them off me.
I ignore her sunken face. And she retreats back to the convention.
"The book belongs to Keeyln,"
My eyes widen. Why would Keeyln write all that? She certainly not the type of ruthless Alpha to be into poetry. The book had my fathers name specially written in the last page. Maybe that was a trick.
Before I could respond Nyla continues. "My father is Keeyln's mate but Keeyln denied her childhood friend and even stabbed him in the heart just to test his strength. Your father, Gail, fell in love with Keeyln and she tried to kill him as-well,"
"W-why would s-she do that?" I asked.
My voice became cracky and shaking. I look around ready to find anything to hit.
"It's okay," Nyla's hands graze over my arms and I calm down a little my eyes adverting to her. "Don't hate Keeyln. She's an orphan like us, she saw her parents get killed. She sucks up love but doesn't know how to give it. I know you love her and so do I,"
My eyes stream with burning tears. I chuckle at how weak Keeyln would say I look. Nyla wraps her arms around me and I let the liar hug me.
"There's more," Nyla pulls away looking me in my watery eyes. "This is my uncle, Keeyln's, and my fathers childhood home. Carlin war is starting and from what I've gathered the enemy is Lucifer, my father, Quincy."
