Anne strolled her way through the winter covered woods and toward green gables.
This had been the worst day.
Yesterday was equally as bad because yesterday is when her and Gilbert had to stop whatever it was that they were doing , as Anne wouldn't allow her selfish needs to break Ruby's heart.
But today...
Today topped it...
Today Gilbert wouldn't look at her , not once.
She only felt his comforting gaze on her at least once every 10 minutes and it only lasted a second.
Anne missed him.
She missed feeling his hazel eyes watching her. She missed walking home with him and arguing with him over who's the top student.
She missed him in general.
But it's for the best. It's for Ruby. She deserves Gilbert.
She's pretty and cute although Anne has to admit there wasn't a lot up there and she is very childish and she looks like more of a child then the rest of them...
Who is she kidding!!!
Ruby is not fit for Gilbert!
She is just a child and Gilbert...well Gilbert's a man...
Eww! That sounded gross!
Anne shoved that thought out of her head.
Ruby and Gilbert. That's how it's meant to be.
Not Anne and Gilbert.
Ruby and Gilbert.
However the thought of them together makes Anne want to throw up. She needs to support her best friend and help her reach her crush and get him.
No matter how much it will break Anne's heart.

As Anne entered the door of green gables she noticed a shiny gold envelope on the side table.
It had Anne Shirley Cuthbert written in fine golden ink.
Anne was intrigued.
She snatched it up off the side and made her way upstairs.
Thank god Marilla was at Rachel's house as she would have questioned Anne or swooped in and taken the envelope so she could read it first.
Anne entered her bedroom, chucking her books and school things on the floor , without a care, before bounding atop of her bed.
Her body quaking in excitement and her eyes full of curiosity.
Anne couldn't wait.
She gently tore the envelope open, careful not to ruin the golden thing.
Inside was a creme coloured card filled with golden swirls and flowers. It read:

Anne Shirley Cuthbert

She was thrilled.
She could dress up in a fine gown and Marilla could do her hair.
Marilla.
She needs to get Marilla's consent.
Ugh. She sighed and flopped onto her bed.
How can I persuade Marilla?
She isn't a normal person she won't let me go easily...

Anne smiled to herself.
I can't wait!!!
