Can and Sanem, a love story

"Don't tell me I'm not romantic"

Summary : Five times Sanem was a romantic babe.

She couldn't understand it. How could he have told her that she was not a romantic person. She literally based a whole novel on her love for him. Ok, he hadn't read it yet. Ok, she was not really good in this couple thing. And Ok, ok, she was always hiding their relationship. But he was wrong and Sanem was decided to show him. It would take her five days to prove him wrong. 

On the first day, Sanem went to the wood to pick up some white flowers. The ones from her perfume. The one she knew made Can totally crazy. She wore it when they first kiss at the opera. Since then, she never ever wore anything else. Back home, she did her usual little recipe to create her fragrance. Then, she took some of it and put it in a special pendant she made herself. It represented a bird's feather and it was hanging on a long chain so he could wear it. She would be with him forever. She then hide it in a small box. When she finished, Sanem went back to work and waited for him to leave his office to put her small gift on his desk. She wrote a note :  "Don't tell me I'm not romantic".

On the second day, Sanem asked her mom to cook for her. She disposed the meal inside a beautiful wicker basket. She asked Can to have lunch with her. But it didn't take place in some common park. She gave him her GPS position so that he could join her. When he arrived, he discovered a hidden creek, surrounded by large trees. It would be their place for the next hours. Can saw a blanket on the floor, candles, plates, some wine (and some water, because Sanem and wine were not getting along very well). With a proud and large smile, she invited him to sit next to her. She was wearing a beautiful flowery dress that made Can shiver. Taking his hands, intertwining her fingers in his, she said : "Don't tell me I'm not romantic".

On the third day, Sanem and Can decided to go on a trip, far from town and from everyone. When the night was there, when they were both wrapped in each other arms, Sanem stood up and went inside their little lodge to search something in her bag. "Sanem?" Can asked. "I'm coming", she said loudly before coming back with a paper in her hands. She went back in his arms, still holding the document. She gave it to Can. When he opened the weird paper, he discovered a map representing the sky. Two stars were encircled. One was named Artemis. The other one, Albatros. It said "Congratulations, you are the owner of two stars". "You bought us stars?", asked Can, mesmerized by the girl he loved so much. "Don't tell me I'm not romantic."

On the fourth day, Sanem decided it was time to stop hiding. She invited Can for diner with her parents and her sister. No one knew what was happening. She put on a dress she had bought for the occasion. It was a black one, because she wanted to match with Can's clothes. He couldn't help but check her out. She was amazing, her hair was in a ponytail and she was wearing long silver earrings. When they were all ready to start eating, she asked all of them to be quiet because she had something to tell them. She took Can's hand, not under the table this time. And, not letting it go, she started : "Mom, dad, Leyla... I want to introduce you to the man of my life". They were all very surprised, her mom asked if she was again going crazy and making a fool of herself. But Sanem was decided not to let them ruin the moment. So she continued : "I know it is hard for you to believe, that a girl like me can be with a man like him. You think I deserve a Zebercet. But I don't. I deserve a Can Divit. He is the best man I've ever met. My heart explodes everytime I am close to him. Just touching his hand right now is making me emotional. I am in love with him and believe it, he is in love with me. We are connected. We are one. My heart is his home". Almost tearing up, she then turned to him, and said with a pure smile : "Don't tell me I'm not romantic".

On the fifth day, Sanem went to his house. She told Can to sit on the sofa, she put a chair in front of him. She made some tea, she explained that the night would be long, without telling him why. She made sure he was comfortable. Then, she sat on the chair, opened a book and started reading. From the very first lines, Can understood what book she was reading him. "When the albatross chooses a partner, it's forever. This is the story of a girl who was chosen by her albatross". After a few hours, she closed her book and said : "Don't tell me I'm not romantic".
