I wanted to stay in the shower for more than just fifteen minutes but I knew I couldn't so as the other girls stepped out I did the same
We were all drying out hair when the door opened again and the woman appeared.
"Straight line, follow me" She said.
"But we didn't get our clothes back on yet" one of the girls objected.
"Straight line, follow me" she said again more sternly this time and we all complied.
She lead us back to the room we were previously in.
Sigh. This stupid old room again.
To my surprise however there was fresh clothes laid out for us on the one bed in the room.
"Get dressed and let me know when you're done" the woman said.
I was expecting her to leave but instead she just turned around and started playing on her phone.
There was a plain black dress & underwear for each of us.
We got dressed and when we were done Elena nervously informed her.
She turned around and looked at us intently.
"Okay, listen up. You obviously aren't here for a sleep over. You're going to be sold. Tonight. For whoever wants you for whatever reason they want."
Just like that.
This woman let those words fall out her mouth so emotionless and raw....
As if those words didn't mean that my life and every other girl in that room lives was basically over.
She said it. No emotion. No hesitation. Causally... like there was nothing out of the ordinary about that sentence.
Her words knocked my sanity out of me as I stood there, shocked.... Lost for words.... Lost for actual breath.
The world literally stopped spinning. This couldn't be real.
I turned to look at the other girls. Tears streaming down there faces as the trembled with fear.
How is this real?
"The next time I return I'll be taking you with me for the bidding to begin"
She turned around and walked out the room.
As she left I stumbled back onto one of the girls.
My head spinning as I found my way to them corner of the room and sat.
I felt like I was seconds away from passing out.
The food I ate felt like it was starting to come up....
I tried to take deep breaths but the air just didn't seem to make it to my lungs.
My chest kept getting tighter and tighter as the endless tears flowed down my face. There was no calming down.... Not with her words repeating in my head.
Over and over.
My head spun and my stomach clenched as I sunk my finger nails into my thighs..... How is this real? I asked myself for the hundredth time.
