A woman walked in first. She looked very poised and polished wearing a navy blue pants suit paired with a classy heel. Her long hair was pulled neatly in a sleek high pony tail. She wore very little makeup but still looked flawless.
Her face was pretty but was disguised by the hard expression she wore.
She definitely was an intimidating woman.
The way she looked at us gave me the chills. There was absolutely no emotions in her eyes.
The entire room was dead silent.
She stepped aside and allowed several men to walk past her with trays of food and handed one to each of us.
I was expecting something more like dry bread and water however we were all served a tuna sandwich, a green salad, an apple, a juice and a bottled water."Eat & stay hydrated. I will be back in a few hours." the woman said firmly before leaving and having the door slammed shut behind her.
I wanted to think about what she was returning for but I couldn't with the food sitting in front of me.
As I was about to pick up my sandwich Elena stopped me.
"We should thank god for this food as we don't know if we'll have another." She said sadly.
She was right.
We all held hands and Elena said a beautiful prayer that had me on the verge of tears.
When she was done we all sat in a circle on the floor and ate quietly.
I looked at them wishing I could snap my fingers and we'd all be home with our families where we belonged............
