{Two Months Later}

Dante's POV

It's been two months since we saw the last of Y/N. Since then, we all wondered when she would appear again. Things were quiet when we came back. It was true that we all missed her, but we never figured out why. We had an unspoken friendship, and it was obvious. The first month was rough, but the second was easier. We got on with life and spoke little of her. Now we didn't even bring her up. It's funny watching Garroth and Laurence pursue Aph though. She's our Lord as well as friend, so sometimes I step in and break it up, as well as Travis. Aaron would stand back and let it unfold. I guess he isn't interested in much.

I walk out the guards tower with my sword, polished and holstered. I was quite proud, it looked awesome. It's red glint really shining. Not to mention sharp. I see Garroth and Travis at the gate, talking. It must not be that good of a conversation because I can see Garroth frowning. I walk over and over hear their conversation.
"No Travis. I won't do that." I see Travis pout.
"Please? I'll pay for your drink." Travis offers. Garroth shakes his head.
"Man up and do it yourself."

I stand next to them, they both pause and look at me.
"What's wrong?" Travis was about to reply, but Garroth beat him to it.
"He wants to ask Logan if he can take tomorrow off and he wants me to do it." He states, unhappily. Travis crosses his arms.
"Well he's going to say no if I ask." He retaliates. I frown.
"Man up and just do it dude." I say plainly. He hangs his head back and groans.
"Fine!" He shrieks. We both smile.

Suddenly, we heard yelling from the other side of the gate. It cranks open and there was a man carrying a women. She looked terribly injured. He frantically ran to us, and we got a better look at the girl. We all freeze when we take it her features.
"Y-Y/N?" Garroth gasps.
"Please help her! She saved me, but got very hurt!" He says quickly, worried it seemed. He hands her to me and I hold her. She had a giant cut above her eye, as well as along her arms and legs. She had a large gash in her torso and an arrow sticking out of her stomach. We all stare at her. She looked good without her cloak covering her though.

We all exchanged looks as we ran to Aphmau's, with the stranger dashing after us. Her breathing was irregular and blood flowed down her face, drenching her once soft and smooth H/C hair. Travis reached there first and knocked frantically on the door. It was opened as soon as we got there by a concerned Aphmau. She looked at us and moved out the way to let us it.

I carried her upstairs to a guest bedroom and laid her down on a bed. Her blood stained the purple covers.
"What in Irene happened?!" Aphmau screamed. The stranger stood in front of the closed door, puffing.
"I-I don't know. I was being held hostage by bandits in a camp when she came along and rescued me." He says frantically. He pauses and looks down. "They must've had buddies because that's when she fought off six and got badly hurt." He finishes, nearly a whisper at the end. He was pulling his dark brown hair a bit, while his hazel eyes were full of guilt. I look away from him.
"Why were you captured?" I ask.
"They robbed me, then tied me up." He says, sadly.

The door swings open, making the guy jump away quickly. Laurence and Aaron dash in, out of breathe. They both stare at Y/N's figure.
"No way. Is... is that Y/N?" Laurence asks, almost whispering. I nod, a mixture of sad and happy. Happy that she was here, sad that she wasn't healthy.

A cough makes us all whip around. Aphmau jumps back from the sudden noise. She slowly sits up and looks around. Her eyes go wide when they land on us. Clustered at the foot of her bed. She looks down and touches the gash on her stomach. Definitely a sword... She swings her legs around and sits on the edge of the bed, mumbling something.
"A-Are you okay?" Aphmau asks, timidly. No reply.

She stands and stumbles. She stabilizes herself and looks at the arrow. It was covered in blood and wedged in deep. She sighs and quickly rips the arrow from her stomach. Dead flesh drops and it bleeds even more. Garroth quickly grabs a cloth and rushes over to her, holding it over the gash.
"Don't do that! Your bleeding even more!" He shouts, applying pressure. She looked stunned.
"Sorry, but I don't like things sticking out of me." She shrugs.

"Why did you save me? You could've gotten yourself killed!" I turn to see the man yelling at her. I see Y/N sit on the bed with Garroth still pushing the cloth down on her wound, evidently blushing a bit. She shrugs.
"But I didn't. And besides, this is a much better outcome then you getting taken. Correct?" She asks, knowing the answer. The guy heads for the door.
"Well, thank you. I owe you." He says before closing the door and disappearing.

We all stay in silence before looking back to Y/N. The bleeding had lessened and she was wiping her face with a cloth. She runs a hand through her hair and looks to us.
"Well, at any rate, it's good to see you all again." She says smiling at us. I feel myself smile back.
"How did you get that hurt?" Aphmau asks. She smiles faintly.
"Lots of swords and daggers, not to mention an archer." She says, as if it were normal. All our jaws drop.
"How many were there?" I ask. She shrugs.
"Only ten."
