My Best friend: Riker Lynch

Chapter 2

I woke up to my phone ringing I looked at the time and groaned. It was 3 :35 am. 

"Hello?"

"Hi um uh is this Amanda? Savannah's sister?"

"Yea why? Who is this?"

"This is Jason. Savannah's boyfriend. well i guess was her boyfriend."

"She has a boyfriend? and what do you mean was? what's going on?"

He started to cry into the phone

"Yes she had a boyfriend me, and we aren't together now because she's -she's-"

"She's what?"

"She's dead"

"What do you mean she's dead?"

I was crying now too

"The police said she was drunk and got in the car and ran off the side of the road and hit a tree i'm so sorry"

"No you shouldn't be she was closer to you than me I'm sorry for you, but thanks for calling me"

"Of course and i'll call your dad you don't need to be the one to tell him"

"Thanks so much Jason Bye." 

I can't believe this how can she be dead? I mean sure we weren't very close, she wasn't close with anyone in our family,but she was still my sister and dead? She was only 23. How could she screw up her life like this. But thank god for Jason if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have known, plus I would be the one to tell my dad, and he would find someway to blame it on me for losing half of family. God bless Jason. Shit! it's already 4. How am I supposed to fall asleep now, knowing that my only sister is dead. half of my family is gone just like that, and i guess I could say all of my family's gone my dad believe it or not he was a normal happy dad before my mom died, but after she died he changed he's like some sort of demon trapped inside of my dad's body, and my real dad is on the inside screaming to get out. But i know that's not true he just completely changed himself into some sort of jackass alcoholic who probably won't care that his first daughter is dead, and i'm sure he wouldn't mind if I died too. Why is life a never ending nightmare? I decided to text Riker.

"Hey I know your probably asleep right now so i'm not expecting you to answer,but don't pick me up in the morning,i'm not going to school tomorrow i'll explain later"

I put my phone down and closed my eyes but my phone went off

"What? Why? What's going on? Did your dad hurt you again?"

Before I could text back I heard someone running up the stairs and banging on my door "Amanda its me it's Riker are you ok? what happened? Why aren't you going to school?" I got up and unlocked my door. Riker bursted through the door out of  breath in his pajamas. He looked around and finally found me standing in front of him and pulled me into a hug. "Are you ok?" "Yea I'm fine" "Then what's going on you scared the crap out of me" I didn't respond and started to cry into his shoulder he released the hug and looked at me. He put his hand pn my back and guided me to my bed and we both sat down as I continued crying into his shoulder. "What Happened?" "Savannah's dead". He pulled me into a tight full on hug "I'm so sorry" " I just wish I could've told her how I didn't hate her like she hated me, and that besides the drinking I looked up to her". "Woah Amanda don't say that she-she didn't hate you" "Riker stop lying yes she did and no one can tell me different." we laid like that and both fell asleep.

Riker's POV:

Amanda's alarm went off but she slept through it I'm gonna stay with her here today she needs someone to comfort her and her dad's not that kind of person. Wait I can' just skip. I'll just tell mom what happened and then i'll come back. I ran back over to my house. "Hey mom-" "RIKER WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!" "Mom listen I'm sorry Amanda texted me saying she didn't need a ride today and that she wasn't going to school and I got worried about her I thought she was hurt." "Oh ok,but wake me up and tell me next time ok?" "Ok I'm sorry, and I was wondering If I could skip school today to be with her?" "What?! Skip school? Riker no way! Why do you have to be with her?" "Oh right sorry when I got there I found out that her sister got in a car crash and died, and I figured someone should be with her since that's her only sister, and well her dad's not exactly the comforting type." "Hmm..I guess you can skip one day but that's it Riker and I mean it!" "Yea of course mom I promise Love you".
