I tensed, ready to turn around and smack the creep.
I twisted my head, and first thing I saw was that damn arrogant smirk.
“Oh it’s you,” I said dejectedly.
“Yeah, it’s me. Were you expecting someone else?”
“No, I was just surprised. So you know who owns this, huh?”
“Yeah, I know him quite well actually. It’s my bike. So what exactly was it you were you saying about killing to take the bike out?” He was hinting at something, so I played dumb.
“Hmmm, don’t think so. What’s wrong with it?”
“Uhh,” he blushed. “I, um, I don’t actually know.”
Ha, guess he doesn’t like not knowing everything.
“Start it up” I ordered,
He started the engine, and there was just a sputter.
“Again”
It sputtered again but this time I heard a subtle, sucking sound like a vacuum almost.
I couldn’t stop laughing; I knew what was wrong now. How on earth did he do that?
“How did you manage to disconnect your fuel pipe?” I gasped.
He looked sheepish, “I’d best not say.”
“I can fix it in an hour so come back then?”
“Can I stay; it’d be cool to see how you fix it?”
“Uh, I don’t know”
“Pwetty Pwease” He said accompanied by a baby voice, and a puppy dog look.
“All right, just as long as you never do that again.” I laughed.
Wait. What? Okay, I’m confused, where has the arrogant tough guy gone? He’s acting like a goofball. Blushing and baby talk, I never would have guesses it seeing as he was such a jerk in class the other day
“Oh, I guess I should ask what your name is” I asked the guy.
“I tried to tell you the other day, but you were rude so, I don’t think I will tell you.” He smirked.
I rolled my eyes.
“That’s okay,” I grinned at him “I’m only being nice because you’re paying me”.
He laughed. “I like you, you’re a smart ass.”
“Hell and I was trying to get you to leave me alone.”
“Damn,” he took a step closer so that we were an inch apart, his chest at my back, and his feet were in step with mine. There were other things a little too close for comfort as well
“Rosie, if you’re trying to get me to leave you alone, you can try to your heart’s content. But eventually you’re not going to want me to leave you alone.” He whispered this with his lips on my neck.
I suppressed an excited shiver and stepped away from him.
“Oh Yeah? So I can be another one of the girls in your past? I don’t think so! I know what guys like you do and they never change! Never, okay!” I announced angrily. I knew it. They’re all the same.
I was next to the bike now; I kicked the kickstand and glanced at him out of the corner of my eye. I could have sworn hurt flash through his eyes. His face hardened and his jaw tensed.
I rolled the bike over between my Mustang and the tool box and started dismantling it. I can’t believe it. For a second there I thought he was different from the rest of him and now I can see he is exactly like them.
