I took notice of the houses in the neighborhood as Kellan turned into the coldisac. You could tell every person in this part of town had money of some sort, and they lived their best lives. Each house was huge and could've easily had up to 10 rooms. The sun hadn't fully gone down just yet so you could see their yards and how well they were kept up. I took in a deep breath as we made it to the last house on the street, it being even bigger then the ones we had passed. The driveway was filled with cars, and some men stood around keeping watch, letting me know it was protection. Kellan pulled up into the driveway, looking over at me with small smile.
"You ready?" He eyed me. He looked handsome in a blue button up shirt and black dress pants, which he called casual.
"Can't back out now can I?" I cracked a smile.
"Well, that's why I asked Dad and Mr. Myers to come along as well. Maybe they can focus some energy on themselves." Kellan spoke.
"Thanks." I smiled, as we heard some doors shutting letting us know the two men we had spoke of had just arrived. "Let's also hope I'm not the only female present."
"Ha." Kellan rolled his eyes. "Please, there's probably skanks everywhere in here."
I let out a loud laugh and turned as my door was opened. I smiled at the man who offered me his hand which I happily took and stepped out, giving a nod as I held onto the silver clutch that matched the silk silver tank top I had on, matched with black high rise pants and peep toe heels. My hair was up in a high pony tail and I chose to keep my make up simple tonight. I made sure I wore my chunky bangle bracelet to cover up my tattoo on my wrist that I knew would give me away. "Queenie" had been placed on my right wrist as a symbol of love from Jimmy back in the day, and no matter how many times I tried, I just could never get it covered. Now that Kels had popped back into my life I wished I would've had the balls to do so.
"Tessa"
"Mr. Brenfield" I smiled brightly as I walked over giving him a hug and peck on the cheek.
"You look lovely. Tell me, is my son treating you well?" He spoke with a smile.
"Oh dear." I chuckled, stepping back. "How many times must I tell you, Kellan and I are strictly friends."
"He's a fool." I let out a laugh.
"Ms. Foster." I turned smiling at Mr. Myers, the co owner of the firm.
"Mr. Myers." I walked over, giving him and hug and peck on the cheek as well.
"Please, call me Ron." I gave a small nod. "You sure are bringing us in some top clients. Keep up the good work darlin'."
"Thank you sir." I smiled, linking my arm with Kellan's as he offered it.
We headed towards the front door, which opened without us knocking to reveal Rick. He greeted the men in front of Kellan and I with warm hugs and kind words as if he had known them for years. I took this time to peek around the front yard, my eyes landing on a familiar car. I rose a brow as I tried to place it, knowing I had seen it many times but it eluded me. I was also pulled out of my thoughts by the gentle tug from Kellan. I looked up and he nodded his head forward, making me look infront of me and smile at Rick.
"I'm sorry Mr. Ross, my mind is somewhere else." I shook his hand with a small smile.
"No worries sweetie. You look beautiful ma'am." He smiled, causing me to take note of his black button up and matching pants.
"Thank you." I smiled.
Rick led us into his house, my wandering eyes taking in everything I saw in amazement. The foyer was huge, and straight ahead a wrap around staircase lead to the next floor. I smiled as I took note of how elegant the decor was, wondering if Rick had picked out the furnishing or if he had a wife that made sure everything looked as great as it did. My suspicions were answered when a beautiful dark skinned woman made her way down the steps in a floor length black dress. Her curls bounced with every step she took, and as her eyes landed on Rick, her face lit up and her plump lips turned into a huge grin. You could see how much she loved the man before her.
