Mag's helped me pack a few bags, what I would need for work, and handed them off to Colson who loaded them in his Jeep. She was enjoying this too much for some reason, and I made a mental note to kick her straight in the cunt when all this blew over. I had also convinced Colson that I needed to bring Iggy with me, and after pouting shamelessly he caved.
I sat in the passenger side of his Jeep as he drove us through downtown Cleveland, following behind Rick's huge SUV. I recognized the neighborhood, but rose a brow as Colson stayed straight as Rick turned into one suburb. I licked my lips, keeping my eyes glued as he continued to drive up a few blocks, turning into a different suburb. I glanced around at all the beautiful houses, smiling a bit.
"So why don't you have a house?" Colson's voice broke the silence, my eyes traveling over to him behind the wheel. He glanced over, before looking back at the road. "If you don't mind me asking?"
"I don't need one." I spoke, looking back in front of me. "It's just me and Iggy. The loft is plenty big."
"Not the domestic type?" He asked, pulling into a driveway, parking in front of a garage.
"Never thought about it honestly." I spoke, taking in the huge house. "I'm not a Suzy Homemaker if that's what your asking."
"I can tell." He chuckled, shaking his head as he took the keys out of the ignition. "C'mon."
I took a deep breath and climbed down out of the Jeep just as he had. I opened the back door and grabbed Iggy in his carrier, smiling as he let out a soft meow. I placed my purse on my shoulder and closed the door, walking around the back of the Jeep just as Colson slammed the lift gate shut. He nodded for me to follow him, which I did, up to the front door of the huge brick home.
After unlocking the door, he stood to the side and let me walk inside first. I took in the spacious foyer, looking up toward the staircase, smiling. To the left a step down lead into a huge living room where a wrap around couch sat along with a few recliners and a huge flat screen hung on the wall. Various beautiful paintings also lined the walls, along with a few pictures. I looked down the hall and noticed what looked to be a kitchen due to the half a counter top I saw. Glancing to my right I saw an office, raising a brow.
"The downstairs is pretty much just basic." Colson spoke, walking up next to me with my bags still in his hands. "My office, living room, game room down that hall with a small studio, my daughter's playroom." I bit my lip as he brought up the fact he had a child again. "The kitchen is down this hall, has a bar built into it that leads out back to the pool and shit. Upstairs has all the bedrooms. There's 12 rooms in this house, so don't feel like there isn't room for you."
"12 rooms?" I asked, shocked.
"Yeah." He chuckled. "I got a big family and crew. C'mon."
I followed him up the steps to the second floor, smiling as I looked around. I honestly didn't expect it to feel so homey, but it did. I actually felt safe.
"Aight." He stood in the middle of the huge hall. "Down there" He turned to the right, nodding with his head. "Slim is the last room on the left, Rook's across from him, Irv's room is right next to Rook's, and Ashleigh and her mans room is across from Irv's. There's a bathroom and a library down there as well." He turned to the left, motioning for me to follow. "Baze stays in here from time to time, when he ain't with his girl. Ace is right across the hall here from him, Dre is in this next one here, bathroom here. This room right here is my daughters, and then these next two are empty. My room is the last." He nodded down at the last door.
"Wow, you keep a lot of people around you huh?" I looked up at him.
"I wouldn't be here without my family." He smiled, "So, which one?" He asked.
"How about this one." I point to the door on the right, next to his.
"Aight."
He opened the door and I walked in. The light beige walls had a few paintings on them, a huge queen sized bed in the middle of the room, with a wooden dresser to the left wall and a huge mirror. I glanced to the right and saw a closet, then a big screen hanging on the wall.
"Wow." I breathed, walking over to sit Iggy's carrier down on the bed.
"I hope you'll be comfortable in here." Colson replied as he walked to the side of the bed, placing my bags down.
"Dude how could I not?" I smiled as I heard him chuckle. "Thank you for this."
"Hey, don't worry about it." He shrugged his shoulders. "I'm sorry this room doesn't have a bathroom connected to it. My room is really the only one that has one."
"Kels, this is perfectly fine. I'm not picky." I smiled at him. "You've done enough for me already."
"Well, now you owe me one." He winked, causing me to place my hands on my hips.
"Don't press your luck Mr. Baker. I still owe you a punch to the face remember?"
"Damn, all this violence." He chuckled. "Stop acting crazy girl."
"You've not seen crazy yet." I chuckled, looking down at Iggy. "Do you mind if I set up a litter box for him? He's not a bad cat."
"Nah, go ahead." He spoke, walking towards the door. "I'll leave you to get settled. Everyone should be back here shortly, so if your not too tired you can join us downstairs."
"Okay." I turned, smiling. "Colson?"
"Yeah?" He stopped in the doorway, smiling.
"Thank you." I replied softly.
"The pleasure is all mine Tess." He winked and closed the door.
I sighed, shaking my head as a huge smile broke out on my face. My hormones where going crazy, and I could feel slight butterflies in my stomach. A feeling I hadn't felt in a very long time. I had to get past these feelings, or this was going to end very, very badly.
