Tony Stark

These kids were weird.

That's what we were told, and that was what we found out. The hard way.

We were told that Strange and a bunch of kids stepped out of a portal-thing. Strange whispered something to the emo-looking kid and strolled back through.

We were waiting for someone to pipe up, and when they did, we rushed to the park. Thankfully, the kids had slowed down by the time we got there.

They stared up in shock when they saw us. The emo one said something to the others, looking angry. The girl next to him said something back, and carried on staring. Something tingled in the back of my mind. Recognition. This was the girl that somehow melted my suit, not once, but twice. It was so wrecked that I couldn't even finish repairing it before we got the call. I had to put on an older model.

"Show time." Steve muttered.

"Time to intimidate the hell out of these kids. You guys ready?" I said.

"What about you?"

"I look like a walking tin can. There's no way they'll be intimidated by me."

As I finished the sentence, the ship suddenly jerked right.

"Tony! What are you doing?" Nat shouted.

"It isn't me!" I squeaked

I looked at the cameras that were facing the kids. Two of them had their arms extended, pointing towards us. One was a Muslim girl. Another was the girl we were tailing. The girl who messed up my suit.

Hazel fucking Levesque.

The ship suddenly zoomed backwards and jerked to a stop, throwing all of us forward. I ran back to the pilot seat, and clipped on the belt. My hands gripped the joystick, ready. As the ship pelted backwards, I pushed the joystick forwards, slowly stopping the ship.

It wasn't nearly as easy as I described.

The ship and the air seemed to be against me, both pulling the ship backward. I pushed the joystick so hard that I thought that it would break. I then had and idea.

A while ago, I found out about Magneto, the dude who could control metal. I decided that if we ever fought, it might be handy to trap him in something non-metal but incredibly hard to cut through. I came up with a net. I made enough of them to fit 3 in one jet. I even added a button that would immediately bring up a screen with a camera. With it, the pilot can lock on the target and then press the button to eject the net, trapping whoever was unlucky enough to be targeted.

The net was made of rope, braided into a pattern that would immediately tangle once it contacted the other side. It was a pretty simple design, easy to be underestimated. It also looked pretty small, but it could hold down a full grown elephant, forget 4 teenagers, 3 of whom were midgets.

I managed to stop the jet and pressed the button. The little screen popped up, and I aimed it at Hazel and her friend first.

But right before I hit the button, I hesitated. These kids were probably like Wanda Maximoff. Kids with special powers, trained to be evil by HYDRA. They probably had something good left in them.

I didn't listen to my head, and I pressed the button.

The net shot out faster than the human eye could follow, and hit the two girls, pushing them down immediately. The other two tried to get them out, but I pegged them down too.

"They're down." I said, my voice barely a whisper.

Pull yourself together Tony! I mentally chided myself. What's gotten into you?

I looked at the tallest boy's face. He was about Peter's age.

I felt a wave of guilt wash over me. They were probably HYDRA kids, kids who were taken away from their parents and taught to kill.

I looked at his face again. His eyes looked strong, like he'd been through hell and back. But going through something like that brings dark things, things that should have been kept at bay.

I shook myself out of thinking like that. That was why HYDRA had sent kids, to make us hesitate before hurting them, hesitate so that they could kill us.

I gave Steve a tranquilizer and landed the jet. He returned a few minutes later, dragging the nets and setting them aside. They looked so peaceful. I never would have guessed that they were HYDRA kids.

I went back to the seat and flew us back to HQ, towards the kids' probable doom.
