Loki

Today was turning out to be a pretty bad day.

Sure, I escaped the Avengers, but I nearly faded into nothing. And now we were in the Ink.

Last time I was in the Ink, I fought Dusk head to head after trying to avoid Thor. I nearly died.

And then I end up back, meeting Dusk's mother. The Norns sure do hate me.

"Why can't girls be Kristals?" Hazel asked, breaking me out of my daze.

Dusk stepped out into the light. His platinum hair was shimmering (like always) and his green eyes glittered. "Genetics." He answered simply.

Hazel looked at Dusk with enough curiosity to fill 12 kittens. "My father taught me all about you." She whispered. Her voice was filled with awe and astoundment. "You guys used to look after his temples. Then something happened and no one knows anything about you."

Dusk smiled. A rare sight. "Right. We were Pluto's main supporters. In fact, he created us to serve him. But he didn't realise how much intelligence he gave us, and we plotted an uprising against Jupiter so that Pluto would reign supreme. We failed, and were exiled to the Ink, erased from existence. Pluto tried to get us out, but Zeus threatened to kill his children if he tried again."

Dusk looked up from Hazel, and his eyes found mine. His smile slipped into a snarl and his eyes lost their sparkle. Then, he pushed me up against the wall, his face mere inches from mine. "Loki." He snarled.

"Dusk." I expected a loud, imposing voice to come out. Instead, all that came out was a whimper.

"What are you doing here?" Dusk hissed.

"It was an accident-" I started.

"Wait a second." Strange interrupted. "Do you two know each other?"

"We, uh, used to kinda, umm" Dusk stuttered.

"We used to date." I translated.

"What?" Hazel asked.

Dusk let go me and stepped into the shadows.

"I turned into a female and tricked Dusk into falling in love with me. Only I fell in love with him. Then, one day, he saw me when I was asleep. I couldn't use my trickery while asleep back then, and he saw me in my true form. He nearly killed me. But I accidentally came back here while trying to escape Thor, and Dusk nearly killed me again. Turns out that Kristals aren't very forgiving." I explained, as fast as I could.

"We really aren't. " Dusk growled, pulling a diamond knife out of his pocket. "We can hold grudges for a surprisingly long time. Especially when someone makes us look like a fool."

I turned just in time to see him rush at me. I closed my eyes. Something was off. I didn't feel anything. I opened my eyes. The knife was held less than an inch away from my forehead, glowing with silver light. Dusk was sweating slightly. He was trying to push the knife further, but he couldn't. I looked at Hazel. She held her arm up, palm facing the knife. Her hand glowed in the same silver light. It seemed that she was stopping Dusk from killing me. I stepped out of the way of the knife and Hazel pulled her hand down. Then she collapsed.

Strange caught her just before she fell. Then, he grabbed me and we teleported just as Dusk threw the knife towards me.

Safe I thought.

"Stand down. You are all under arrest."

I looked up. Iron man had his hand aimed at Hazel.

Not safe then.

Someone whacked me in the head, and the world went black.
