Hazel
For the second time that day, I woke up in a room, completely devoid of furniture, and a slab of two-sided glass in one of the walls. Two things were different this time. The room was made of wood and rope, probably to stop me from using my powers. I hadn't exactly hidden them.
The other difference was that my hands were covered in stiff plastic gloves. I stretched my senses to the other side of the glass, but i couldn't feel anything.
These people were smart.
"Hazel Levesque." A voice called. It sounded male, and completely devoid of emotion, almost as if he was a robot. "Do you know why you are here?"
I thought for a while. Why was I here? "Not really. No." I replied.
"Why did you hesitate?" A female voice demanded. She was probably the ex-spy lady, the one who was here last time.
"I was thinking." I replied. I sounded hasty, as if I had thought of the idea on the spot.
"Sure."
"Anyways," the male voice interrupted. "Hazel, you are here because SHIELD believe that you are a potential spy from HYDRA. What do you have to say about this accusation?"
An idea popped into my mind, and I didn't have the time to think through it. "If I was a HYDRA spy, why didn't I attack you? You guys came after me first." I took a breath and continued before they could interrupt. "Also, if I was a spy, I would have been trained to hide my powers no matter the cost. But I openly showed them to you, on more than one occasion as well."
I heard someone mutter behind the wall. "She's right." This voice had an accent to it. "Listen Hazel. I was under HYDRA for a while, and I know exactly how things work over there. We're going to come inside, but you can't attack us. We won't attack, but if you come at us, we will defend our self. Okay?"
I nodded, and a door opened to my left. It was so well camouflaged that I didn't notice it at first. After they all filed in, the door shut without a trace.
The Avengers stood before. Some of them anyway.
A woman with short, blonde hair. Another with long brown hair. The scientist-looking guy who I stabbed back in Doctor Strange's house. A man holding a bow, a quiver full of arrows slung over his back. The final one was floating, a yellow stone embedded into his forehead. He was so full of vibranium, my head hurt.
How didn't I sense him? I thought. I must have accidentally said it aloud, because metal-man smiled.
"We filled the side room with a new magnetic plastic to throw you off."
"Oh." I turned to the scientist. "I'm sorry for throwing that knife at you. Did it hit anything important?"
He chuckled. "Nothing I couldn't fix up."
I relaxed a bit. These people don't seem so bad. I thought.
They smiled again, a creepy smile that tells you that they know something about you, something you don't.
I decided to try something. I screamed in my head, a loud scream. All present Avengers flinched, looking scared. They were reading my mind. I decided to confront them.
"You guys are reading my thoughts, aren't you?"
They all looked everywhere, at anything that wasn't me. Metal-man opened his mouth, probably to explain or something, when a voice called out over the speakers.
"You guys have officially been rumbled."
