Melissa's POV
Before I know it we're lighting fireworks in the backyard in celebration of the new year. I've stayed inside, though. Greg and his family came over a little before we had dinner, and I've volunteered to stay inside with Theo.
"Look, Theo." I coo, pointing at the fireworks bursting in the sky. "Aren't they pretty?" Theo just smiles and claps, still being shy around me.
Niall walks in a few minutes later and says, "Theo, are you trying to steal my girl?" Niall picks Theo up from my lap and spins around with him, making Theo laugh like crazy.
"Since when was I your girl?" I ask jokingly.
Niall sits down next to me, putting Theo in his lap and answers saying, "Hmm, since now." Then he kisses me on the lips lightly. It takes me a few seconds to realize what he did, but when I do, I'm in shock.
"Did-did you just kiss me?" I say, not sure if I imagined it or not.
"Yeah, I did."
"Oh, well. Okay." I splutter, not knowing what to say. Looks like I'm really bad at keeping promises.
"You aren't mad, are you?" Niall questions, looking slightly worried.
"Of course not. I just didn't think you would kiss me so soon." I tell him, laughing lightly after.
"Would you like to go out with me tomorrow -technically today?" Niall asks me, shocking me even more.
I shake me head and laugh, then say, "Today has been such an eventfull day. There's so much to take in. But to answer your question; yes, I'd love to go out with you tomorrow."
"Well, me and this little guy should be getting to bed so I'll see you tomorrow," He says, standing up while still holding Theo, then walks out of the room leaving me speechless. Or at least metaphorically.

The next day comes quickly and I'm woken up when I hear my door shut. I open my eyes expecting to see someone, but instead I see a peach colored rose and a note sitting on my desk.
'Good morning, Mel :)
If you want, you can get dressed and come out to the backyard. There's a surprise waiting for you.'
I get dressed and I decide to brush my hair and my teeth as well. I grab the rose and head outside. When I get there I'm surprised by what's waiting for me. Niall's sitting on a red and white checkered blanket as well as a small assortment of breakfast foods. And there are rose petals -the same color as my rose- on the ground surrounding the blanket.
"Oh my god, Niall." I gasp at the view. "How long did it take you to do this?"
"Not that long, really. Louis and Harry helped some. Do you like it?" Niall asks, standing up and walking towards me.
"I love it, Niall. It's beautiful!" I tell him, speaking the truth. Niall walks me over to the blanket and holds on to my hand until I'm seated. He then goes and sits on the other side of the blanket.
"What would you like?" Niall asks, gesturing at the food.

"This was really lovely, Ni. Thank you." I thank Niall after I've finished eating.
"You're welcome, Mel. I'm glad you liked it." Niall smiles at me.
I smile back at him and say, "No one's ever done anything like this for me. It means a lot to me."
"Well, if you're up for it, I've got more things planned." He tells me, surprising me again.
"Really?" I ask, and I get a nod in response. "I'm definitely up for it." Niall just laughs at my enthusiasm, then helps me stand up.
"We could leave now if you'd like to." Niall offers.
"Do we have to clean this up?" I question, not wanting to leave all of this out here.
"Nah, Louis and Harry offered to clean it up." He says, grabbing my hand and leading me to the front yard. Niall opens the passenger door to the car for me and closes it as well after I get in, then gets into the drivers side.
"Where are we going?" I ask as I buckle up.
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you." He grins at me.

"We're here." Niall says, dragging my attention from the cd that's playing currently.
"You're kidding me. Dublin? How the heck did I not notice we were going to Dublin?" I start freaking out. In all of my years in Ireland, I've never been to Dublin. Yeah, I've been to the airport here, but we've never stopped anywhere.
"All I had to was put in a 5SOS cd." Niall laughs, getting out of the car and opening my door for me.
"I've never really been here. All I've seen is the airport and the stuff we passed on our way to and from it." I confess.
"Well I'm glad I could be the first person to show you around." Niall smiles at me, then holds onto my hand leading me around the city of Dublin.

By the time dinner comes around we've seen just about everything there is to see. It was really amazing spending the day with Niall. We drive back to the house so we can have dinner with everyone. I had decided on having dinner at home after Niall told me that him and the boys were going to be leaving in the next couple of days. That ment that I would have to choose between staying with my family or going back to London with the boys. Speaking of London and the boys, I learned that the boys were only staying in the same place because of me. Strange, right?
Anyways, we get home and we hurry to the dining room, already getting several texts telling us that everyone is waiting on us and that dinner is going to get cold.
"I'm home!" I yell as I walk into the dining room, gaining everyone's attention.
"It took you two long enough. Some of us were on time for dinner." Louis huffs, upset that he had to wait to eat.
"Gosh, sorry. There was traffic." I roll my eyes, sitting in one of the two open seats. Niall sits in the seat next to me.
Halfway through dinner I start thinking of something, and I decide that I want to let everyone know what I'm thinking of. "I know this is extremely sudden, but I don't want to cancel the wedding."

AN: Surprise! Sorry it took me so long to update, and that I pretty much skipped through all of the date. I was stuck on the date so I had to skip most of it so I could come up with an update. And I guess I should apologize for what I'm about to say. ***This is probably only going to have two or three more chapters and an epilogue.*** Yeah, I don't have much more that I can do with this story, and I've already dragged it on too far.
Anywho, the song on the side (or the top for those of you on the app) reminds me of Niall and Melissa in a way. And I've finally came up with the person that I want to play Melissa. Actually it wasn't even me, it was @charisma495_1D4ev that came up with the idea. She mentioned that I should put Vanessa Hudgens as Melissa, and I agreed, so I'm putting Vanessa Hudgens (the blonde version) as Melissa. That's also why I'm dedicating this chapter to her!
