💍Omniscient💍
Violins played gently as the guests socialized amongst each other. Everyone admired the modern decor that filled the room. Everything was was white and silver, imported flowers that sat in expensive vases, crystals everywhere.
It was beautiful.
The couple decided not to have a wedding party. Sydney didn't have enough friends to accommodate all of Chris's friends and they also wanted the moment to be about them.
Chris sat inside of his hotel room, waiting for them to give him the go ahead to head where the ceremony was being held. His heart was beating so loud, he could've sworn that it filled the room. Closing his eyes he took a few deep breaths. He wasn't nervous he just wanted everything to go smoothly.
They've been through enough. Their big day should go by perfectly.
A knock on the door caused him to look over his shoulder. Whoever was behind the door knocked again. He stood from his seat and straightened his custom all white, with silver trim, five thousand dollar suit. The couple made it clear that there was no budget and they're both known for always looking their best.
Chris pulled his door back and it revealed his mother. She was dressed in a custom silver dress that her and Sydney designed. Her red tresses tightly curled with the front pulled into a ponytail. When her eyes laid on her son she immediately got emotional. Chris smiled at her reaction, while stepping aside to let her inside. "You look...amazing." She said.
"Thank you. You look beautiful, you and Syd did a good job designing that dress."
"We did, didn't we?" She looked down at their creation. "So how you feeling?"
"Good...I thought I would be nervous or something but I'm calm and I'm happy. Everybody knows how long I've wanted to marry Sydney and I'm just glad it's here. Feels like a dream kind of."
"I'm glad you're feeling good about all of this because I know how you can freak out when you're nervous."
Chris laughed. "Yeah. Syd and I are in a great space compared to before. After we took that vacation when you suggested that we talk, things shifted but in a good way. We don't fuss as much, if we do feel like it's about to escalate out of control we walk away until we calm down. These last few weeks we've just been enjoying life."
A huge smile peeled across Joyce's face. Even though she mentioned before that the couple was toxic she knew that the love that had was real. Hearing that things are better and didn't take the turn she expected is a great thing. "Well I just want to let you know that I am soooo happy for you and Sydney. I know you two have been through a lot and there were times that we thought this day wouldn't come. But you guys made it. I can't wait for you to see her, she looks breathtaking."
Chris bit down on his bottom lip, while imagining how good his soon to be wife looked. He couldn't wait to get this night over with so that they could get to enjoy each other.
"I'm getting her pregnant again." He smirked.
"Oh boy. Let Ace grow up first. Maybe in a year or two, then try."
"I can't make no promises."
Joyce shook her head at her son's shenanigans, then walked up to him and fixed his collar. "They sent me up here to walk you to the venue. You ready?"
