Chapter 1: The Train Journey

I was pushing through the crowded train station, trying to find a door to go through. It was hard because of all the big wizarding families seeing off their children. I, on the other hand, had no family to see me off. Half of them are dead, my only known family is my uncle, Uncle Albus. I finally made it to a door, climbing in, I started my search for an empty carriage. Most of them were full so I continued going down the train, until I found one with only one person in it. I went and sat down now. The person didn't seem happy.

"There is this well known thing called manners, I kindly ask for you to use them." The boy said.

"Oh so sorry, I didn't realize that I would cause a problem. I can leave." I suggested, my accent peeking out slightly. The boy looked at me with dark eyes.

"Your American, which makes you a transfer. You are a transfer, correct?" I stared at him admiring his skill. I nodded, "Which school?"

"Salem Witches' Institute. Who are you?" I was curious as to who this was. Was the boy pureblood, halfblood or a mudblood.

"Tom Riddle and you are?" He asked. Riddle isn't a pureblood name. He is either a halfblood or mudblood.

"Jana Frepn." I held out my hand for the mysterious boy to shake. After a moment Tom actually took my hand into his own and shook it. We were silent until I began to get curious once again. "What year and house are you?" He looked up from the book I only just noticed he had.

"Fifth year and I'm in Slytherin. Also I am the prefect of Slytherin." He announced, explains a lot. I snorted slightly, only to recover a menacing glare from Tom."What about you?"

"Same year as you with an unknown house." I replied. "Halfblood or Mudblood. But by what your telling me I'd say halfblood." He looked at me, shocked.

"I'm pureblood." Tom said.

"Poppycock. I can name all the pureblood families there are in the world. You have the Malfoys', the Blacks', the A..." I was rudely interrupted by Riddle telling me the truth.

"Fine I'm a halfblood. Now shut the bloody hell up!" Keep your bloody hair on. The rest of the journey we sat in silence, with the exception of me leaving to change into my new robes. When I returned to the compartment, I saw Tom in his robes and he had a badge with the letter P on it. Must stand for prefect. Tom's hair was neatly combed back as it was before i left, his dark blue, nearly black, eyes shine brightly as he looked at me. That was when I noticed I had been staring for to long.

"It's rude to stare." He said when I didn't remove my eyes from him.

"I could say the same for you." I got out a book and sat down to read it. As I opened the book, Tom spoke up.

"Dark Arts, I see your interested in them." He stated

"No." I said simply, he looked confused for a second before it vanished, "I learn about the Dark Arts so I can defend myself better from it." For the last lot of the train journey me and Tom were both silent. I looked out the window and saw the magnificent Hogwarts Castle.
