Since the festival that Amaryllis had mentioned was near her house it was the plan to meet there before heading out. It took Toya a bit to find the house, for it was tucked away in a small neighborhood. From the outside it seemed like a pretty basic cozy 2 story house, and it lived up to it on the inside, but he did only see if for a minute. Toya even got the chance to meet Amaryllis's father.
He honestly wouldn't have known they were related at glance. He was tall and well built with dark hair and harsh features, the complete opposite of Amaryllis, but he could see a dash of her facile features reflected on his rough face, more so in the sharp and intense eyes. Toya only met him for a moment but he seemed nice, he was in a hurry to leave so he was just rushing through everything. Amaryllis mentioned something about him being a realtor and they had some Halloween party each year. She didn't seem very interested in it which lead to Toya not really caring too much about it.
They only stayed at her house for a few minutes before they headed out and Amaryllis started the first topic. "So what was it you decided to go with?" Toya could feel her eyes studying him.
"Thought I would go with a vampire." From what he had scavenged together he wore a simple black cape with a fancy red vest that was engraved with different patterns, and he had a pair of fake fangs stashed away in his pocket that he had purchased from Sarkens. The ointment he had gotten from him had also worked fairly well, which surprised him. The mark that had taken up nearly half of his face was now just a memory.
Amaryllis hummed a response, "Nice and simple."
"And what is it that you are again?"
"A witch, also nice a simple." Amaryllis wore a simple black dress that was lined with green ribbon and stripped stockings to match. A very stereotypical witch.
Toya chuckled, "Seems we both had the same idea."
"Guess so," Amaryllis said, casting a glance down at her dress. She then moved her red gaze to study Toya's face. "You should have let me out some makeup on you, then you would have been more in character." She laughed at her own words.
"Hell no," Toya's tone was stern yet playful. "My face would have probably broken out." He added the last part for good measure.
Just like what Amaryllis had said, the festival wasn't a very far walk from her house. It was filled with light, games, candy, and everything in between.
Toya ended up enjoying himself a lot more than he expected to. He and Amaryllis had a lot of fun running around and playing different games and what not. Toya also got a chance to see her more competitive side, every poor rip of game they did she wanted to win. Even though in the end, Toya ended up winning more than she did. He couldn't help but be amused by her huffy attitude when she lost.
When Toya actually stopped to think, he wasn't sure of the last time he had enjoyed himself this much. As far as he could think back it was either just responsibility or pain. He could never remember being this general sense of happy, and with another person. He was never sure if he could feel the way he feels with another person. With someone like Amaryllis. He couldn't help but feel his heart ache a bit, he just wished he could old onto this feeling forever.

After they had their share of festival fun they had bought some cheap candy and headed back to Amaryllis's house.
Amaryllis saw how much of a better mood Toya was in following their late night trip. His blue eyes seemed so much more brighter than before. It made her heart skip a beat, she had never seen a look like that in his eyes.
So now they say together at the kitchen table eating cheap candy and just making stupid comments back and forth. They also sat in a strange way where Amaryllis was angled to where she had her legs resting on Toya's lap, but still sitting a good distance from him.
"I'm still very convinced you let me win that one game," Amaryllis huffed before popping another bit of chocolate into her mouth.
Toya just chuckled, "Would it bother you if I did?"
"Possibly," she replied through gritted teeth. All she heard was another chuckle from Toya, she smiled.
Amaryllis just found herself studying his features. He looked so calm in this moment, something she hadn't seem much of. He didn't seem worried about anything and was just present in the moment.
"Need something?" Toya asked, ripping Amaryllis from her daze.
"No," she sang, "nothing in particular."
He stared at her for a brief moment. "You look like you want something." The tone in his voice sent a small shiver down Amaryllis's spin. He then reached down and grabbed the legs of her chair pulling her closer. Amaryllis moved around awkwardly so that her legs still rested in Toya's lap but where angled off to the side in a strange manner. She was almost sitting in his lap, gazing up into cool blue eyes. She knew exactly what she wanted in that moment, she was just unsure of how to get it.
"Perhaps," Toya once again snapped Amaryllis back to reality. She watched as he plucked out another piece of candy from his small pile. "This is what you want?" Again, his voice was smooth and cool, particularly flitter like. What he held up was a small piece of chocolate, Amaryllis had mentioned previously that it was one of her favorites. Mostly for the fact that it was just caramel dipped in chocolate.
"Yeah," Amaryllis said, "I think I would like that." There was a sly look glistening in his eyes. Amaryllis watched as Toya unwrapped the chocolate and stuck it between his teeth.
"Then come claim it," he said through gritted teeth. This had taken an interesting turn, one Amaryllis hadn't expected, but probably should have. And so, Amaryllis decided to mess around with him as well.
She leaned forward slightly before reaching up and plucking the chocolate from his teeth. She tossed it into her mouth with a smile.
Toya hummed to himself, "That's not how you play," he said. He grabbed another piece and stuck it between his teeth once again. This time he leaned forward ever so slightly.
Amaryllis just stared at him for a moment, she just gazed into his blue eyes. He then just shut his eyes and sat there, waiting. Once again, she just studied his features, her mind wondering every which way. Until finally she decided on a path of action.
She moved slowly, inching forward. Without a second thought, she pressed her lips against his.
Amaryllis was surprised at how warm Toya's lips were. It was a nice comforting feeling, his soft lips against her's. It was a feeling that she didn't want to give up just yet. So when they began to part, Amaryllis reached up and tucked her hand behind his head, pulling Toya closer to her. Her heart fluttered at this, surprised by her own greedy desire. Toya didn't seem to mind either, and Amaryllis could swear that he was enjoying it more than her.
Amaryllis wasn't entirely sure how it occurred next, most likely from the fact that she just flat out invited him in. Next thing she knew was she had both of her hands wrapped in Toya's red hair pulling him closer, giving him access to her entire mouth. However, Amaryllis found herself growing incredibly hot at a increasing rate. It wasn't until she realized where the source of the heat was coming from did she separate herself from Toya, taking deep heavy breaths. She could see the disappointment gleaming in his eyes, as well as a harsh list shining through.
"Is something wrong?" Toya asked, he sounded somewhat hazy.
"It's just," Amaryllis piked out, she sounded even more hazy than he did. "Your lips were nice and warm but your tongue was very hot." She could feel the harsh blush across her cheeks and she ran her finger tips across her lips. She noticed Toya's checks grew tinted at this statement. "As well as the fact that I could taste the chocolate and I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that," she added.
"Really?" He sounded like he was just trying to fill the silent space. "Do you consider that a bad thing?" Toya's voice switched back to a lustful tone.
"N-no," Amaryllis cursed herself for stuttering, "it just caught me off guard."
After a moment a silence, Toya shifted a bit closer to Amaryllis. "Care to continue then?" Just as before he had that lustful tone that made Amaryllis's heart skip a beat. She flashed him a smile before she inched closer and felt his warm lips pressed against her's once again, and just like before, she didn't want it to end.
