Toya couldn't help but laugh at himself for what he was doing. He never imagined himself going out and getting a gift for someone. He was aimlessly walking around a thrift store wondering if he could find just a simple rubix cube. He just couldn't help but laugh at the thought.

After wondering around he found a shelf full of misfits and thought it was the best place to start at the very least.

"Are you looking for anything particular?" Toya hadn't been standing there for very long when that voice cut through the air. It belonged to a very tall slender man. He was very pale and had long red hair that hung over his shoulders. His eyed were dark, like gemstones sitting in his skull. Toya turned away from his gaze. He didn't look like someone who worked here, nor was he a pleasant person to look at in general.

"Does it matter to you?" Toya's tone was sharpe.

"Not really," the man's voice was smooth like butter. "I was just curios."

There was silence before the man spoke again, he seemed very persistent. "I feel like I've seen you before, are you in some sort hero course, perhaps?"

"No." By now, Toya was just rather annoyed by him. He shifted his feet trying to distance himself.

"Ah I know!" The man sounded very optimistic, "you look just like Endeavor-!"

"What the hell do you want?" Toya snapped, cutting the man off, he looked rather startled before he relaxed.

"I was just trying to make conversation," he sounded very calm. "I apologize if I got on your nerves."

Toya glared into his gem like eyes a bit longer before removing them, but he did happen to catch a glimpse of what he was here for on the top shelf. The man seemed to notice this. He reached up to the top shelf and pointed the to cube. "Is this what you were looking for?" Toya gazed at him for a few seconds before nodding. He grabbed it from the shelf and handed it to Toya. The rubix cube seemed old for it was faded and dusty; he shifted it around in his hand for a brief moment. "Thanks," was all he mumbled.

"You know," the man just didn't seem to take a hint very well. "I run a shop where I reformism little knickknacks like those. If you're interested, you should come by sometime." He reached into his pocket and pulled a notepad and a pen. He jotted down some numbers and a street name before tearing it off and handing it to Toya. Toya took it, rather intrigued by this.

"It's open Monday through Saturday, 9 to 10." The man gave Toya a small smile, his teeth just made his face look even paler.

"Oh and by the way," he held out his hand for Toya, he had long pale fingers, almost like a skeleton, "you can call me Sarkens." After a moment of inner debate, Toya shook his hand.

Sarkens said farewell to Toya and he watched him leave the store. Something about him just didn't sit right with Toya.

With a plastic sack in hand, Toya jumped the wired fence and strolled into the hidden park; and there sat Amaryllis. She was seated on the ground with her knees pulled close and her phone in hand, she was staring at it in deep thought, she looked worried. She was dressed rather warmly, like always. She gazed up and Toya felt his heart skip a beat when her red eyes light up.

"Are you ever cold?" She joked as Toya sat himself down next to her. Toya thought for a moment before answering. "No," he said confidently, "I've always liked the cold."

"Surprising, for someone with a fire related quirk."

For once, Toya was the one who changed the subject. "I've got you something." He watched Amaryllis's eyes light up again. He reached into the sack and pulled out the old rubix cube.

"And now you must prove yourself," he said, handing it to her. Amaryllis laughed, "would you like to time me?" She mocked, tossing the cube back and forth in her hands. "Oh wait," Toya's tone was playful as he pulled out his phone. "Are you ready?"

As soon as Amaryllis saw the timer start she went to work. Toya was impressed with how quickly her hands moved. It wasn't long before the cube was finished and Toya stopped the timer.

"I'm impressed," Toya mocked, holding up his phone to show her, "a minute and 11 seconds."

"Bull!" Amaryllis looked as if she was trying to act serious but the smile on her face wasn't helping.

"Damn, I can't believe you would lie to me," Toya tried to put up a heart broken act but Amaryllis just jabbed him in the side.

"I bet you rigged it," a small laugh escaped Amaryllis following her words. Toya just found himself staring at her, unable to look away.

"But thank you," Amaryllis said, gesturing to the cube, "it's a nice gift. Assuming that I get to keep it seeing how that's how gifts normally work."

Toya sighed, "yes you get to keep it." They chuckled together once again and Amaryllis rested her head on Toya's shoulder.

"Thank you for meeting me," she said, her tone had completely changed, "I've had a bit of a stressful day." She took a deep breath before she closed her eyes. Toya watched her for a moment before moving some of her silver hair from her face. He smiled to himself before he rested his eyes.
