Yuma couldn't help but be a bit worried about Amaryllis. She had been helping him with different chores and such all day, but she was just dragging herself through it. She was battered and bandaged and looked exhausted. Yuma assumed that this had to do with the incident she was involved in last week. Yuma wasn't aware of any of the details, just that it didn't go to well even with the victory, and whatever that incident was it seemed to be taking a toll on Amaryllis.

Yuma found himself eyeing her as they carried some boxes back to his office. Her red eyes looked dazed, like she was off in another world, just gazing at nothing. She almost passed his office once they got to it.

"Hey," Yuma said, breaking their long silence, however, he hadn't thought through this conversation and didn't have anything to follow. Amaryllis sat down the box and gazed up at him, "Hey?" She replied.

Yuma hummed as he thought of a response. He didn't want to ask if she was alright or anything, he was sure she had been asked that enough and didn't want to hear it again. Perhaps asking her for more information on what happened? But she probably didn't want to hear that either.

"How's school?" Was what he asked, it was stupid and simple, but it was an easy conversation starter.

Amaryllis stared at him with tired eyes before she answered. "Fine," she said, "you didn't go to U. A., did you?"

"No." The dry conversation sat in Yuma's tongue. It went on like this for a good bit, kind of boring and space filler. Until Yuma decided to get more adventurous.

"Are you okay with talking about the, incident?" Yuma treaded lightly.

Amaryllis took a moment to respond, her eyes were glossed over as she was in deep thought. She turned to gaze straight into his eyes, her eyes were such a deep red, Yuma couldn't help but be fascinated by it. "Do you wish to know?"

"Yeah?" Yuma was unsure of his answer, but it had slipped out before he had time to think. "I mean- yes, I would like to know."

Amaryllis removed her gaze and stared off into nothing. "It was honestly awful. The whole experience, it was nothing like I've ever seen or heard of." She clasped her hands together, like she was nervous just thinking about it.

She went on how the situation exclaimed into that awful thing she spoke so much of. Yuma couldn't help himself from grabbing some paper and sketching out the beast she described.

A sudden thought crossed Yuma's mind. He stopped drawing, glancing over his work before he gazed up at Amaryllis. She had seated herself on the couch while she had talked, she was scrunched up on the very end, making herself as small as possible. There was a terrified look in her eyes, Yuma never thought he would see that in Amaryllis's stern eyes.

"How," Yuma picked out his words. "How did you handle the beast?" Amaryllis turned to look at Yuma once again, she looked so scared, so tired, so fragile.

"I killed it," she said, her voice sounded heavy. "I stabbed it right through its skull. I heard its skull crack and the dreadful noise that came after. I'll never get that sound out of my head," she paused for a moment. "I haven't been able to sleep because of it, the nightmares and just the fear of them."

Yuma strolled over to Amaryllis, taking light steps for fear of startling her. He handed her the sketch he had made, "Is this what the creature looked like?" He couldn't help but be curious.

Amaryllis took the picture and studied it before she sighed. "More or less," she said, handing the picture back to Yuma. He took in back from her and searched his mind. "Well," he said, "let me know if I can do anything help." That was the least he could do, and all Yuma could think of.

The mood shifted in her eyes, and this pleased Yuma. He didn't like that frightened look in her strong eyes. "Thank you," she said.
