Luckily for Amaryllis, most of the hickeys could be somewhat hidden by her hair and tend to resign on the back of her head. So she was able to hide them from her father when he returned home that night with her hair and a little bit of makeup, but tomorrow would offer a new challenge.
Amaryllis spent most of the night looking up different treatments on how to get ride of the love bites, but many of her attempts didn't seem to aid her problem very much. Late into the night Amaryllis had given up and would just do her best on hiding them for the next few days.
The following morning, Amaryllis made sure to completely cover the hickeys with makeup before setting out, she even stuck her makeup in her bag just in case. Amaryllis knew she could go most of the day with the makeup holding up, it was just training that worried her. Goodness knows that makeup wouldn't hold up against sweat.
Sure enough, after training Amaryllis was staring into the small mirror in her locker, her red eyes resting on the still dark marks scattered along her neck. She ran her fingers along her neck, feeling herself grow warm at the thought of where those marks came from.
Amaryllis thought that if she just quickly changed she could probably rush to the bathroom to reapply the makeup. She tore her training jacket off and threw it into her locker and was about to continue on when a voice startled her.
"Hey, Inoue-chan," Amaryllis knew that voice, and she tilted her head around just enough to acknowledge Sachiko, one of her classmates that stood out with her blue skin and scattered scales. She had a sly smile stretched across her face.
"What was that on the back of your neck?" Sachiko was always the curious type.
Amaryllis hummed like she didn't understand her, and went back to her locker to snatch her shirt. Hoping to get it over her head to help hide the marks a bit better. Alas, her cold behavior was not enough to disinterest Sachiko.
Sachiko giggled softly before she wrapped her arms around Amaryllis's waist, laughing as she did so. Sachiko was rather shorter than Amaryllis and wrapped around her like a small child, dancing and squirming around to get a better grip. Her skin was rather cold for even Amaryllis, causing more discomfort as she wiggled around to try and free herself.
Sachiko finally got a clear shot and reached for Amaryllis's hair. She was able to get a good enough grip to move enough of her hair to show off the still dark hickeys.
Sachiko gasped, holding Amaryllis's silver locks high above her head. "Inoue-chan are those hickeys?" She sounded intrigued and surprised, but mostly amused. Amaryllis was sure by now all eyes were on her, and she couldn't find a good excuse.
So instead of answering Amaryllis just hummed to herself, unable to find any words to defend herself. She could feel her face slowly growing red.
Sachiko's face was all smiles. "The question is- who did they come from?"
"Certainly not anyone in our class-" Amaryllis realized that she just admitted to the hickeys. By now her face was completely red. She made a mental note to send Toya a irritated text later.
Sachiko laughed and released Amaryllis's hair. "Haven't you been seeing someone?" She spoke very quickly, Amaryllis could barely keep up. "Did it go any further-"
"Stop!" Amaryllis shrieked, her face now beat red with her mind racing. Despite her suggestive flirting with Toya the very thought of going further made her heart pound.
Staring into Sachiko's bright eyes she wondered if she should answer her question. Judging from those eyes, Sachiko wanted that answer.
"I have been seeing someone," Amaryllis was beginning to compose herself, relaxing a bit. Her mind was a tad boggled, she considered her and Toya to be together but they had never given or talked about the title of this. She went on with her answer, since Sachiko's eyes were so hot against her skull.
"And it didn't go any farther-" she forced these words out under her breath, hoping that would suffice. Sachiko seemed satisfied and the room was beginning to clear. So she gathered up her clothes and rushed them on before making her way to the bathroom to reapply her makeup.
