Despite the fact that it was December and winter was just around the corner, it was raining. It wasn't a pleasant rain either. It was the rain where it was just above freezing and where it had been falling for 3 days straight. Regardless, Amaryllis was out on duty for her internship in the pouring rain.
The rain itself didn't bother her, Amaryllis's suit was built to be water proof and to keep her warm, so that wasn't a factor to worry about. Amaryllis always had a fondness for rain in general. She always liked sleeping soundly to the sound of the rain and how it washed away many things in its path. However, Amaryllis was pissed about the fact that she was having to do hero work at this hour. This time could have been used for much more worthy things than running around in the rain looking for washed away clues.
Amaryllis was joined by another newer apprentice named Yuno, her hero name was something strange that Amaryllis had trouble remembering. Luckily, Yuno didn't mind being called Yuno. Amaryllis didn't know much about the girl, she was relatively quite. All she knew was that Yuno was a first year and that she could barely see out of her helmet.
Yuno followed closely behind Amaryllis as they walked down the deserted street. They were tasked with keeping the eye out for some low threat robbers in this area of town. Something nice and easy to take this newcomer on.
Amaryllis had tried to make some small talk with Yuno but her attempts had been unsuccessful. All of her answers were dry and quick, nothing to build off of. So Amaryllis had just given up by this point and left the girl to her thoughts, as well as her own.
The memory of the beast has began to die down in Amaryllis's mind. She had more luck with getting a nights sleep and could focus of what needed to be done. So now the question laid in her mind. What the hell was that thing? Where did it come from? What made it? What was its purpose? Are there more? It just bothered Amaryllis, all theses question she most likely will never find the answer to. Because of this, Amaryllis found herself pushing to make herself stronger, so she would be able to handle those awful situations if they ever arose again, and so she could protect people. It ragged Amaryllis's mind about what was under those bandages of Toya's. She wondered what his own quirk could have done to him. Amaryllis knew that she had fucked up that day, she had gone frozen solid and didn't know what to do, leaving Toya to do much of the dirty work against that beast. She hated it, she hated that she had prepared and prepared for awful situations like that but had frozen up the very moment one finally appeared.
"Inoue-san," Yuno's soft voice broke through Amaryllis's thoughts. She was caught off guard by how faint her voice was.
Amaryllis shifted around to meet her friendly yellow eyes. After a beat, Yuno gestured to a street. "I believe we are supposed to go that way." After a moment of racking her brain, Amaryllis realized that they were instructed on a strict path and that was where they were supposed follow next. She was a bit embarrassed by the fact she had been so caught up in thought she had completely missed the street.
"Oh," she hummed, "thank you for catching that." Amaryllis saw Yuno give a nod of recognition before she continued to follow.
It wasn't very long before you could see two men huddled next to a car. After a moment of observation, it was easy to see that they were the harmless robbers they were after. Amaryllis turned to Yuno. "Would you mind to take care this mess?" Yuno looked confused for a second before realizing what had been asked of her.
Yuno nodded her head and looked down at the helmet she had been carrying. Amaryllis held out her hands, offering to hold her item while she leapt into action. With a nod of thanks, Yuno placed the helmet into her hands before setting off toward to crocks.
It was then that Amaryllis remembered what Yuno's quirk was, and why she was apart of Endeavor's agency in the first place.
The men were trying to break into a parked car with a flat metal rod and had stopped when Yuno came into their view. They didn't seem worried at first and continued with their work as usual. Yuno held up her hands and the rain around the men stopped, causing them to freeze as well. With one movement of Yuno's arms, the men were entangled in strong strands of water. The startled men fell to the ground, immobilized by the water. A form of telekinesis, that was Yuno's quirk. There were only certain objects she could control, one of those ended up being water.
