"Love, I've got to go"

The reluctant whisper from the woman beside you caused you to groan before slipping an arm around her waist in what you both knew to be a foolish attempt to have her remain in bed. The stunning brunette decided to humor you for but a moment as the grey light that filtered through the thin curtains proved that the day was yet again going to be a wet one. No one wanted to be out in that weather; the soft sound of rain in the tin gutter and the distant honking of car horns was a testament to that

The soft press of lips against your cheek slowly pulled into a soft smile before she pulled away from you completely.

"I've really, love, I've really got to go now."

The moment's hesitation was all she needed to slip away from you.

Stretching lazily under the bed sheets, you knew she was right, but you just didn't want to.

As you rolled over onto your stomach and slowly crawled forward until you were perched on the edge of bed, watching the young woman glide around the room, preparing for a day of work. Although slow, your movements were anything but lazy; muscles wound tight like a piece of elastic ready to snap.

And snap they did.

Your leap off the bed startled your lover as you pounced, arms wrapped tight around her waist once again pulling her back onto the bed, perched precariously on your lap before you both tipped sideways.

Your lips ghosting along the smooth expanse of her neck, you could feel her pulse racing under your fingertips, her breath shuddering like a frightened animal caught in a trap. The only indication of her lack of fear was the breathy giggle that escaped from her lips.

Somewhere between a growl and a purr, you whispered against her neck, "don't I get another 10 minutes? It is my birthday after all."

And when the both of you turned up to work a half hour late, the knowing smiles from your coworkers helped add to that little spring in your step.
