"I can explain." Isabella said as Peter held up her mask she wore the previous night.
"Meet me on the roof in 15 minutes." Peter scowled as he shoved the mask back into the backpack and threw it back at Isabella.
Isabella nodded a little before walking out of his room.
"Bye May, thank you for having me over." Isabella said as she passed May.
"No problem, you're welcome anytime." May said with a wave as Isabella walked out of the door.
For some reason Isabella didn't believe that anymore. She made her way up to the roof and sat on the edge for ten minutes before she heard someone climbing up the fire escape.
Peter joined her on the roof a minute later. "You have some explaining to do." Peter said crossing his arms and Isabella just looked at him.
"I'm so sorry Peter." Isabella said rubbing her upper arm again.
"Stop saying sorry and explain. Who are you and how do you know me and Tony Stark?" Peter said, losing patience.
"Tony assigned me to shadow you. To make sure you were okay. My full name is Isabella Baker. I've been apart of the Avengers junior team for three years now. I am actually 15 though." Isabella explained causing Peter's mind to race.
"So what's your ability?" Peter inquired and Isabella looked up at him.
"I don't have one. I was raised as an assassin. It wasn't a great life. I ran away when I was twelve and that's when Tony found me and I've been on the "junior" Avengers team ever since." Isabella explained and Peter just looked at her.
"You're an assassin. And you're 15?" Peter asked trying to understand the situation.
Isabella just nodded and looked down at her feet. "I wasn't happy when Tony gave me the assignment, I was a bit pissed cuz you went to Germany and I was left in the compound watching the fight on tv watching the only family I knew, fall apart. When I met you I slowly began to not hate it as much. It kind of showed me what a normal life might be like. I've never had anything near a normal life" Isabella said as her throat began to tighten.
"You lied to me Bella. Or Isabella. Whatever, whoever you are. You still lied to me." Peter said causing Isabella's eyes to well with tears. "What am I supposed to do with that? Pretend that this never happened and keep moving on? Just keep tutoring you in Spanish so Tony can know how I am?" He added and looked at her for an answer.
Isabella shrugged as she wiped her eyes. "I'll drop out, don't worry. I don't really like school anyway." Isabella said as she slung her backpack on her shoulders before trying to walk away but Peter stood in her way.
Peter just looked at her while she was trying to hold it together. "You don't have to drop out and quit just because I know who you are." Peter explained and Isabella just shook her head.
"You hate me now. I can't do it, I can't see you at school everyday knowing that you hate me. I got too attached, just another reason I shouldn't be on the team." Isabella whispered, every word straining her voice to keep it together.
"Got too attached?" Peter asked and made her look up at him. "What does that mean?" He asked. Isabella opened her mouth to respond but before she could respond Peter saw a blue explosion out in the distance. "Shit." He muttered.
"What? What's wrong?" Isabella asked looked to where Peter was looking. Her eyes hardened and she wiped her eyes before turning back to Peter.
"Go get your Spiderman thing on and I'll change up here. Don't worry I won't be seen. After that come get me and we can go check it out together." Isabella said, unsure if he would agree to it. Peter nodded and without another word, went back down to his room to change.
Isabella hated the fact they were about to go investigate something while she was pretty sure he still hated her, but they had no choice.
Peter was confused as to why Bella, or Isabella rather, had said that she had gotten too attached. It could just be that they were really good friends or did she feel what he felt when they were with each other?
The two of them changed quickly and Peter came swinging onto the roof. "You decent?" He called and Isabella looked at him.
"I am Peter, and I want to say I'm sorry again." Isabella said as she put on her mask before walking over to him. She couldn't tell what his facial expression was or what he was thinking and she wished that she could.
Peter ignored her question, grabbed her by her waist and swung off of the roof.
Isabella winced a little as they were swinging from building to building, she wasn't used to it and it wasn't something that she was used to so it made her a tiny bit nauseous.
"You okay?" Peter whispered as he set her down on a bridge.
Isabella nodded a little and looked on the side of the bridge. She saw three men, one rustling in his van and the other two looking at the different types of weapons that the buyer wanted.
Peter crawled down the side and watched the three men for a minute before landing on the ground softly, none of them noticed.
Isabella watched Peter, wondering what was going to happen after this. In a moment of silence Peter's phone went off causing everyone to jump and Peter jumping off to the side, to not being seen. Isabella rolled her eyes a little bit at the ringtone but kept her eyes on the three men.
"You a snitch?!" One of the men yelled at the buyer as he pointed a gun at him.
"No, no, no, shoot me." Peter exclaimed jumping out causing the men to point the gun at Peter.
Isabella's eyes widened. She stood up on the edge of the bridge and jumped down onto the one holding the gun. She squeezed her thighs together and elbowed them in the head before sliding off of their shoulders bringing the mans head to her knee.
The man groaned as Peter tried to follow the van. Isabella watched Peter run off as the man in front of her ran at her and tackled her, making her groan.
"Let. Me. Go." Isabella grumbled as she grabbed the mans throat and rolled them over so she was on top, choking him. She kneed him in the balls once before punching him, knocking him out.
After the assassin was sure he was unconscious, she looked around to try to find Peter. When she figured out she would have no idea where he would be, she turned on the comms in her ear that would go straight to Tony.
"Stark, where's Peter?" Isabella asked as she began in the direction she last saw him going.
"What?" Tony asked as Isabella ran.
"Turn on his tracker! Where is he?!" Isabella yelled as she ran through a neighborhood, trying to see him swinging.
"Give me a second! Let me find him and I'll get him." Tony said as she heard rustling and Tony grunting. "Got it, he's...in water." Tony said before cursing under his breath and Isabella started sprinting towards the nearest body of water.
They were silent for a little bit before Isabella ran to the bay of the river. "Peter?!" She yelled as she looked around. All of a sudden something dropped into the water. "Peter." She whispered but saw a suit of Tony's dive into the water a second after he did.
Isabella held her breath as she waited for Tony to come back and with a splash, he came back.
"Oh my god." Isabella gasped as Tony set him down. She ran over to him and hugged him. Isabella knew he probably wouldn't want a hug from her but she didn't care, he had almost died and she was beyond worried about him.
Peter didn't say anything but he gave in and hugged her anyway.
"Okay, what the hell happened?" Tony asked looking at the two of them.
Isabella pulled back and looked between Peter and Tony and sighed before stepping forward.
"I got attached to my job. I need to be taken off of it." Isabella said.
