Isabella walked outside as she saw the man with the wings take off, and right before he did, Peter shot a web at the back of his wings, dragging him up with him. Her breath caught in her throat as she watched them go higher.
Figuring she had to help somehow, she got back in her car and called Ned.
"Bella, did you find Peter?" Ned asked when he picked up as Isabella started to drive and somewhat follow the pair that were now so high she could barely see them.
"I did but he's with the guy with the wings again. You don't happen to know if there's a tracker in his old suit?" Isabella asked as she lost them. Hitting the steering wheel in frustration she pulled into a random parking lot. Sometimes she didn't feel like she was that useful.
"I don't think so, he's going to be okay though." Ned said, trying to convince both of them. Isabella wasn't so sure, she had seen when teammates don't come back, weather they're dead or not. This feeling was familiar but not welcome.
"Peter has to come back he promised." Isabella whispered as she hung up with Ned, watching the sky trying to see something that would hint at Peter's location.
While Isabella was trying to find Peter in the sky, Peter was trying to figure out how to stop the guy with the wings from doing what he was doing. He started to kick at the cubes that were on the underside of the plane, that got his attention.
The man started to fight Peter, annoyed that Peter just wouldn't leave him alone. Peter dodged something that the man threw at him, he watched it go into one of the propellers causing the plan to start dropping rather quickly.
Isabella saw a burst of light in the air and something starting to lose altitude fast. She started the car again and started to follow Peter again, and he was going towards Coney Island. It was a shame her first time there wasn't going to be for fun.
Isabella tried to keep her eyes on the road as much as possible, luckily Tony taught her how to drive a few years ago and being Tony, got her, her license a little early.
As the plane crashed into the beach Isabella parked and left the car running as she ran towards the wreckage. She looked around for Peter but didn't see any movement until the man with the wings started moving towards a box of arc reactors.
"No, your wing suit. Your wing suit is going to explode!" Peter strained from the sand as he struggled to get up. Once he was up he shot a web at the back of the suit, trying to pull him back. Isabella just watched, unsure of what to do.
"Time to go home Pete." The man said as he tried to take off with the box. Just as he was trying to take off, the suit exploded.
Isabella started to run out to Peter right before Vulture's wing suit exploded. She stumbled back as she covered her face and looked up to see Peter run into the flames to rescue a man that wouldn't have batted an eye to leave him to burn.
"Peter!" Isabella called as she sprinted towards where he had just been standing a minute ago. She looked into the flames as she tried to find him, but saw nothing.
While Isabella debated on running in after him, she saw a figure stumbling through the fire with another person on their back.
"Oh my god." Isabella mumbled as she sprinted to help Peter with the man who was unconscious.
They both got him set down on the sand and made sure he was alive before looking at each other and just staring for a second.
"I was so scared you wouldn't come back." Isabella whispered as she pulled Peter into a hug.
Peter winced slightly but he hugged her back, ignoring the pain in his body. He was just glad he was alive.
"So am I, we should gather everything and make sure he can't wake up and leave though." Peter whispered and Isabella looked up at him.
"You almost died and that's the first thing you think of?" Isabella asked and Peter shrugged a little causing her to laugh a little. "Okay, let's do that and then get out of here, we don't want to be questioned by the cops. Leave the plane parts but all of the boxes, get over here." Isabella suggested and Peter silently nodded.
They collected the boxes in silence, curiosity came over Isabella with one box that was lighter than the rest. She opened it and saw a shield similar to the one Steve had, just a little different. Tony had made a new shield for Steve. Maybe they weren't done talking after all. Isabella smiled a little as she closed the box again and looked over to Peter who was writing a note to Happy.
After they finished collecting everything Peter took Isabella in his arms and swung up to the top of the roller coaster called the Cyclone. They watched the police come to the scene, followed closely by Happy.
Isabella sighed and looked at Peter. "Are you sure you're okay?" She wondered as her legs hung off the side of the coaster.
Peter simply nodded, not having the strength to say something with his head rest against the sign.
They watched in silence for about half an hour until Isabella said they should probably get back to the dance to get her dress. Peter nodded and put her on his back in a position that caused him the least pain.
When they got to the school Isabella snuck back in, somehow avoiding all of the chaperones and students that were still there.
After she changed back into her dress and Peter back into his suit, they cleaned him up as best they could in the nurses office with the light off, trying not to be noticed.
Once they were finished they snuck back out of the school, starting the walk back to Peter's place.
"I told you I would come back." Peter finally said as he reached for Isabella's hand again and gently laced their fingers together as they came to Peter's door.
Isabella smiled at him and stopped walking. "You did promise, and if you broke that promise Tony would've been pissed." Isabella laughed gently.
Peter shook his head a little and laughed gently as he pulled her closer to him, placing his arms around her waist. She wrapped her arms gently around his neck, pulling his lips to hers. He smiled into the kiss and snaked one arm around her waist pulling her closer and placed one hand gently on her face, cradling her cheek, deepening the kiss.
When they pulled back, both were desperate for air. They smiled at each other as Isabella bit her lip and wiped away some of the smudged lipstick that was on Peter's lips. He laughed a little and kissed her cheek gently.
"I've been wanting to do that for a long time." Peter whispered against her cheek and Isabella giggled a little and nodded.
The door to the apartment suddenly opened revealing a very excited looking May.
