Chapter 17

{Dani's POV}

I smile as Alec looks over at me, Gavin messing with my hair.

"Dani?" Gavin asks.

"Yeah?" I ask. He points at someone who was only across the street. "ALYSSA!" I practically yell, carefully crossing the street before walk up next to her.

"Oh, hey. I wondered when you'd be back." She smirks. I roll my eyes and look at Gavin, who was trembling in my arms.

"Whatever. Anyway, this is Gavin. We just found him and decided to take him to the orphanage." I say quietly. She gives me a look.

"You can't just grab a random kid off the street and take them to an orphanage!" She says sternly. I shot her the 'I'll explain later' look and she nodded. "Alright, let's go."

We walked back to Alec and eventually made it back to the orphanage.

"Hey, guys. Alyssa are you alright?" Malissa asks, looking at Alyssa. Alyssa nods and smiles a little. "Awesome. Hey, I'm Malissa. What's your name?" She asks Gavin softly. He was still shaking.

"G-Gavin." He stutters.

"Alright. Gavin, do you want to come with me to give you a tour of your new home and show you your new room?" He nods and I set him down, allowing them to leave.

Leigh walks up to me.

"New kid?" She questions. I nod. "Poor kid. I could tell from where I was that he was shaking." I could see the sypathy she had towards him. I smile.

"Shaking like a Chihuahua." I say and all three of us walk back to the girls.

"Hey." Perrie smiles. Jade looks at me painfully and smiles at Alec.

"Hi." I smile and look down.

"So, we were talking and we would love it if you'd let us-"

"DANI COME HERE QUICKLY IT'S GAVIN!" Malissa yells from inside. I shoot everybody an apologetic look before dragging Alec with me to see what happened.

Once we got inside, I saw Gavin in a corner, rocking back and forth as he clutches his knees to his chest.

"Panic attack." I whisper to Alec and jog over to Gavin. Carefully scooping him into my arms, I instruct him to listen to my heartbeat.

About two minutes later, he was calmed down.

"What happened?" I ask quietly.

"Memories." Gavin chokes out and sighs. "It happens all the time, don't worry." He smiles weakly and I carry him over to Alyssa.

"Where's his room?" I ask. She leads me to his room and I tuck him into his bed. After doing that and kissing his forehead, I walk out of the room and shut the door gently behind me. Alyssa immediately starts asking me question, but I quickly shush her.

I put a finger to my lips and nod toward the door.

"Oh, sorry." She whispers and we walk downstairs.

"All you need to do is set him down in your lap and tell him to listen to your heartbeat. That should calm him down." I teach her. She nods.

"That's all?" She asks. I nod.

"That's all." I smile and walk up to Alec. "You still thinking about asking your parents?" I ask. He grins.

"Already did. They'll drop by tomorrow." I smile.

"It's really sweet; What you're doing." I look down at our shoes as we start to walk out of the orphanage.

"Hey, who just calmed him down within two minutes? I think you're the sweet one." I look up and he adjusts his beanie.

"Okay. We're both sweet. How about that?" I giggle a little. He chuckles.

"Great." I see him glance at my hand before returning his gaze to his shoes. I smile and look at my shoes also. "I-I uh, gotta go. Bye." I nod. He turns and starts to walk away.

"Wait." I yell after him. I quickly jog up to him and hug him, kissing his cheek.

"Bye." I see a faint blush on his face as he turns around and walks away nervously. I grin and walk over to the girls.

"What was that?" Jesy asks accusingly.

"What was what?" I ask innocently.

"Oooh someone has a crush!" Leigh teases, poking my side. I laugh and blush.

"Nah." I shake my head.

Suddenly I remembered what had happened just before Gavin's panic attack.

"So what'd you want to tell me?" I ask.

"Well..."

I'm so sorry I ended it there but I couldn't resist. Btw he asked if I was single so I'm kinda suspicious and curious if I should trust him but A) he's my first real crush and 2) he's really sweet

So yeah. How's life? I haven't posted in a while and I probably still won't update often because of school, sadly :(
