So I know this one is cliché but you gotta start with the obvious ones that everyone notices instantly.
You know when the characters of a movie come face to face with the killer/bad guy and then BOOM! CHASE SCENE. Then they end up running for a mere 20 seconds before tripping on their own shoelace or something (idk).
I mean does this actually happen do you think? If somebody was being chased by a killer in real life do you think they'd trip over everything? I know it's supposed to be dramatic effect and everything, I get it but there's only so many times you can watch a the hero/heroine fall over before you start to think that they deserve to die for their lack of coordination.
It's always the same things they trip over too. If it's outside it's a branch, and if it's inside it's even worse. The victim is likely to fall over their own feet or something that they have known was there for the entire time. For example in a "I'm going to kill you in your own house" scene, they'll trip over something that if it was actually their own house they'd know about and should be able to be used to their advantage as the killer themself would run into it....
Unless you're facing Michael Myers.... That guy walks slower than a tortoise. But don't worry Mikey, I'm sure the person you'll chasing will fall over the moment you walk into shot.
