Chapter 41 - The Heat is sinking in

Time passed and my relationship with Taehyung grew, since we were such close neighbours there was no need to ask for certain availabilities and the distance was barely a problem. I began to grow a love for watching him play games and only recently did he actually attempts to teach me. But believe me...it was extremely awkward. 

The last bell rang and everyone was thrilled by that sound, for today was the beginning of a holiday. It was 3 weeks of holidays and everyone...and I mean everyone was esctatic over it. Ally was skipping happily in the halls as if the world didn't bother her. 

Everything was going well, and in real honesty it was nice for a change. Stability was finally occurring in my life, well...not exactly. 

With months of no sudden surprises came with the unsettling attitude exhibited by Tiffany. The only glance she would return as I stared at her in curiosity and worry, was a smirk that shook the core inside me. She was up to something, something big and explosive would happen and it was soon. Even the other's noticed too, but to an extent it was only a vague detail to catch on since the obvious threat was previously placed. 

I was on edge for this one particular day. 

And I had the right to be. 

At the very last moment of the day, Tiffany whispered one phrase that brought me back to my haunted past using it as blackmail and as a traumatic memory. 

"One more step towards them and I'll have all your past folded into a nice display at our school, be it your suspension or your lonesome past." She takes a large step towards me And I'll make sure that your future of wanting to attend that University of yours never happens by purposely ruining your grades."

Why did it worry me so much? Well for starters, my past wasn't exactly pleasant nor comforting. Dealing with years of isolation does things for you but being picked out of the crowd just adds the topping on the cake. 

Secondly, somehow I had maintained one of the top grades from both of my schools, I'd have to thank my mum for that. She trained me well, and some say you could get it from genetics. And one of my most desired goals for my life was this University. It surprisingly required the best grades that you could attempt to obtain and that meant that I had to commit heavily to my studies. And this threatening behaviour from Tiffany could spoil it.

But one thing perplexed me...how did she know all of my background? Through school information? Through researching? I didn't know...

I was awaken by the sudden tight grab of my my shoulder from Ally. 

"Hey Lily...you alright?" I nod instantly covering up the thoughts "You seem off, like something hit you unexpectedly?"

"I-I'm fine. Just got lost in thought." I improvise a reasonable excuse. 

"Good, but hopefully this will boost you up!" Her smile grows wider by the second "My family and I are going to a beach house...since its summer. And I want you to come. Please?"

I wasn't much a fan of beaches, I was that indoor girl that loved the occasional nature walks, a way to set my mind to a peaceful place. The beach...crowded, hot and loud. 

"Please?" Ally performs her puppy eyes pleading me to go. 

She was my best friend... what could you do?

"Alright. But I have to get my own time to read a book, understand?" She nods with excitement accepting my terms. 

"Yay! We are going to have so much fun!" Her happiness becomes contagious and I feel myself brightening up a bit. 

"Who's going to have fun?" I see Jimin and the others crowding behind us in curiosity. 

"We are going to the beach! I'm so excited!" She jumps up and down, something about this happiness could not be contained.
