Iris' POV

It's my interview today and I woke up very early just so I can have plenty of time to do my make up and hair. I have to make a good impression of course. I couldn't risk losing this opportunity just because I looked awful on my interview.

After I blow dried my hair, I started on applying my make up but not too much. I didn't want to look too flashy. Just a normal and simple day make up will do. After applying a thin layer of foundation on my face, I did my eyebrows and applied mascara on my lashes and lined up my eyelids with liquid eyeliner to emphasize my eyes. Then I put on my favourite nude lipstick that I had bought at Kylie's and put on a bit of blush. I looked at myself on my mirror and I was quite impressed. Thanks to those make up tutorials on YouTube.

I finally wore the skirt and blouse that I had bought yesterday at Forever21. Gee, I had spent this much just for my interview when I had loads of skirts in my cabinet. I wasn't even sure yet if I'd be hired.

Just as I was about to leave my room, Iver suddenly woke up from our bed and started to stretch out his little arms and legs. I was relieved that he didn't cry like he usually does because the last thing I needed was a grumpy little Iver on my interview day.

"Good morning, Iver." I approached him.

"Morning mommy Iris. Are you leaving for work now?" He asked then yawned.

"Yes, baby. But Grandma Ivy will be here any minute to look after you." Iver nodded and I carried him to the kitchen to prepare his breakfast.

Shortly, the door bell rang and I instantly knew who it was. I walked to open it and there was my mother standing infront of me with her red lips.

"Hi, dear. Am I late?" I gave her a quick hug.

"No, you're just in time." I said and finally walked inside.

"Do I look okay?"

"Iris, you look very beautiful. Do you want my red lipstick? It would make you look more attractive."

"No thanks, mom. I'm fine with this." I said declining in the nicest way possible. I didn't want to make her feel bad but red just isn't my shade.

"Hello, Iver!" My mom excitedly approached Iver who was still busy with his cereal. Iver kissed his grandmother on her cheek then started telling her about the movie he had watched last night. I looked at the time and it was already 9:05. I have enough time.

"Mom, I have to go now."

"Alright, dear. Goodluck."

"Goodluck mommy Iris! Love you!" Iver mouthed and that just gave me the boost of confidence.

"I love you too. Can you give mommy Iris a big goodluck kiss?"

He let go of mom's hand and ran to me and I just had to lift him in my arms and embrace him tight. He kissed me on my cheeks and it took me several minutes before I finally let him go.

My happy pill. This little boy gives me all the happiness in the world and I won't let anyone take that away from me.

After waving goodbye to Iver for like, 5 times I finally drove my way out. I'm feeling kinda nervous. I don't know what would happen in the interview.

Will the boss be nice? Strict?

I bet he's as old as Dan Osborn, with thick beard and large glasses and wears thick coats. I just had to imagine him.

Cale's POV

9:30

I've been sitting on my swivel chair for half an hour already. I usually go to work later than 9:30 but today, I made sure to be earlier than that.

I have 5 applicants for today, but the 4 of these applicants don't interest me. I'm just gonna see and ask a few questions and dismiss them. It's this certain applicant that had got me early and my palms are cold and sweating as fuck just like yesterday. As I held Iris' resume, so many thoughts have been running in my damn head. Is she even aware that I work here too? I wonder what made her apply here. I was getting more nervous by the second.

Why am I even feeling so nervous? It's just Iris Payton.

It's not just Iris Payton. It's your ex Iris Payton. The one you still haven't forgotten about...

I still couldn't believe that she went in here to look for job vacancies. When Megan told me about Iris I instantly scheduled her for an interview.

Hell and look at me now getting ridiculously nervous!

I have read her resume for like 10 times since yesterday and I might say that I'm impressed. Her work experiences are impressive and she's perfect for my company.

I wanna say that she's perfect for me but, yeah, no.

There was a knock on my door and came in Megan.

"Mr. Thompson, the applicants are here. Should I send them in?"

"Uhh, no. Call them one by one." I said firmly trying to hide my nervousness.

"Okay." Megan answered.

"Give me 15 more minutes and tell them to be ready."

Megan finally closed the door and I just have to drink a glass of water.

Loosen up Mr. Cale Thompson! A voice shouted in my head.

I looked at my watch. 5 more minutes. I'm about to face her and I'm still fucking nervous!
