(Just so you know, Iris has been working for 2 weeks now on this chapter.)

Iris' POV

I woke up with my eyes still droopy as the rays of sunshine cut through my window panes. I felt really tired when I got home last night that I wasn't able to eat the dinner that my mom had prepared. I felt Iver behind me, already awake for sure because I could hear Peppa Pig's voice from his iPad. I lazily took my phone from the table beside my bed and looked at the time.

7:43

Shit!

I should be preparing for work and preparing Iver for school! Why didn't I hear the alarm? I always wake on my alarms. I threw away my blanket and stood up.

"Baby, why didn't you wake mommy Iris? We're going to be late." I said as I carried him outside.

"You sleeping so well mommy." The little boy said.

We made it to the kitchen and there was my mom very busy preparing everything.

"Good morning to the two of you." She greeted with all smiles as she placed the eggs on the large plate.

"Morning mom, I'm going to be late. I'll give Iver a quick bath, can you dress him up for school while I take a shower?"

"Course honey. Let me know if he's done then I'll get him." My mom was simply the best. Ever.

"Thanks mom." I quickly took Iver's clothes off and went to the bathroom.

Today is Cale's business meeting with some well known men in the industry and I cannot be late. He said they're very important and we have to make a good deal with them, or else... Well, Cale didn't say anything but I'm sure to get a word from him or there may be a chance for him to fire me. And I cannot let that happen no matter how much I despise him.

"Mom, Iver's done. Can you please dress him now and feed him? Thank you so much." I shouted as I wrapped a towel around Iver.

"Mommy, can I bring rubber duckie to school?" My nephew asked as he kept on pressing the rubber toy.

"No baby. That's only for bathrooms."

"Kay, I return it now." I'm glad that I always have easy talks with Iver.

"Alright, where is my little bumbum?" My mom appeared still in her apron.

"Here grandma, here!" Iver said raising his little arms as if to be seen. My mom finally carried him to the living room. Now it's my turn and I should really hurry.

It was 8:05 when I finished and I should be at Thompson's before 9 am.

I see Iver chewing on some bacon while he watched cartoons on his iPad

"Mom can you please drop him off to school? I'm running out of time and I can't be late." I said as I gathered all my things in my bag, just practically putting everything in.

"Yes Iris, now go on." She said shooing me out the door.

"Thanks mom, you're the best." I kissed her on her cheek and walked to Iver to give him a kiss.
