Iris' POV

The sky was an explosion of orange, pink and blue clouds as the sun begins to set. Watching the sun set is one of my favorite things to do, but for the past few weeks I haven't been able to witness it. I have been too busy.

I parked my car in front of my apartment and stepped out carrying a bag full of goodies for Iver and my parents. I bet my mom's dead tired for taking care of Iver the whole day. He could be a handful at times.

I opened the door of my apartment and just as I suspected, the whole living room was a mess. Iver's toys were all over the place. I entered the messy room and found Iver lying on the floor sleeping. His arms and legs were all sprawled out that it made him look like a starfish. He was surrounded with pillows, I bet he put them there, he always does that.

I dropped my bag and folders and kneeled on the floor to get Iver. I was about to call for my mom but then she suddenly came out carrying a basket still full of Iver's car toys.

"Oh, honey you're here." She said sounding a bit surprised. "I'm sorry about this little mess, sweetie."

"Mom, no worries. I'll handle this." I assured her
My mom was about to say something but I walked past her and layed Iver on my bedroom.

I kissed my nephew on his cheek and made sure that he's surrounded with pillows so he doesn't fall off the bed. I went out of the room and saw my mom picking up the toys on the floor.

"Mom, take a rest I'll do that later." I mouthed.

"Iver is quite a handful now, isn't he?" She said and put a little laugh at the end.

"I know, mom. I'm sorry that you have to watch over him. I'll try to look for a nanny to help you out here." I said feeling all bad that my mom looked so tired and restless.

"It's okay, dear. Maybe a nanny would be okay." She said finally agreeing. I have told her countless times that I would look for a nanny but she always interjected, saying she'd rather look after Iver by herself than let a stranger touch her grandson.

I answered a smile and let myself slump on the sofa.

"You look tired, Iris. Have you had dinner? I cooked something for you."

Mom was about to stand up but I held her hand to stop her. "It's okay mom, I'm not really that hungry, maybe later."

I didn't do a lot today since Cale and I didn't talk the whole day, which was really okay because I really didn't want any talks with him. The rest of the day went by that I didn't see Cale walking and talkin around my office. I let myself get busy with the rest of the paperworks that I had left undone yesterday.

"How's work by the way?"

And my mom just had to ask that.

"It's good mom." I said shortly, not giving any interest to the topic because it reminds me so much of my very nice boss.

"Well, I hope your boss isn't giving you a hard time this time or any of the people there."

'Oh mom, my boss isn't giving me a hard time. He's actually giving me the best time of my life.'
