Cale's POV
It's a fine day today, which really delighted me because it had been raining hard recently. Not sure if there's some sort of low pressure shit that I think I heard of on the television. I wasn't paying much attention really.
The past few days have been busy, well, it's always busy here anyway. The business meeting actually went well. Mr. Ford, the CEO of Ace Hardware Marketing, and Mr. Ting, the CEO of DIY Building Corp., wanted to be part of Thompson Group of Co. Which really delighted me especially my father.
"See? I've always known you can do it." The good old man said, which really uplifted me ofcourse. I have always wanted to make him proud.
Well, I wouldn't have done this without Iris' help. I mean, I can do it alone but she had helped me to do much more for that meeting. She motivated me, although not in the verbal kind of way but in the simplest way she could. She gave me a copy of the business proposal sheet before that meeting and I remember reading some quotation saying something about positivity. She did that on purpose and it kinda helped me though. The men that I've dealt with that day weren't just normal business men, they were actually the richest business men in New York City, they have other branches in other countries as well that's why I really needed that proposal. We're going to be massive, that's what Mr. Ford had said.
And David Pierce. Dumbass. Did he really think he could easily get his way to Iris by proposing half of Alorica? Yes tempting indeed but I won't let him take advantage of my employees.
I have been wanting to talk to Iris about how I've been acting. I want to tell her how sorry I am. But how can I even have a decent talk with her when she only gives me minimal replies like, "yeah", "no" and sometimes she would just nod her head and turn me down. I want so badly for us to talk, the professional boss kinda way. I really mean it. She'd been distant, hell, she had been distant ever since but now she had been even more distant. I can't really blame her though. If she had any other options, I knew she'd probably resign by now.
It really...saddens me.
I suddenly hear the creaking of my door and came in Dylan looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Sup mate?" I greeted. He didn't respond, he continued to walk until he made it to my table blocking my view from my window.
"Dylan you're literally blocking the view."
"Please tell me that, that beautiful lady outside of your office, in that very tiny office isn't Iris Payton."
I almost laughed at how he looked but tried my best to hold it in or he'll tackle me for sure.
"Oh, so you've seen Iris?" I confirmed.
"So it really is her? What is she doing here?" Dylan sounded a bit surprised, well, can't blame him though. I'd probably be surprised as well if I found out he's working with one of his exes in a very sudden and unexpectable situation. He really asks a lot. She's like the male version of my sister Cienna. Always so interrogating.
"She's my secretary now. Yey." I said trying to sound all cheery as I waved my hands a bit.
"How did that happen? I thought she was working at Osborn?"
