"Alright, everyone gather!" Coach Ukai clapped his hands together, signaling practise was over for the evening. (Y/N), who had been a shaking ghost the whole practise, knew exactly what the coach had in mind. Ukai would never phrase, nor clap his hands to gain everyone's attention like that under normal circumstances.
Takeda, Ryuu and Suga all exchanged worried glances between themselves and over at the shaking first year. He had a deadly pale face, making it hard to see his normal (s/c) coloured skin.
As the whole team gathered over to the coach, he waited till everyone quiet down, before taking the word himself. "You've all worked hard today, and I'm sure you all want to go home... But we have a matter to discuss first." He had his arms folded over his chest, speaking in a serious tone. He was very serious about this. They were risking loosing a valuable player and teammate, and they didn't even know it yet.
The coach continued. "I'll be blunt with you all, this might very well be (Y/N)'s last time practising here." A murmur broke out immediately. All eyes were directed at (Y/N) who were staring intensely downwards, not daring to raise his head to meet any of them. All the glares added to his pressure. It was as if they were hitting him directly, pushing him down and drowning him. It was sufficating. He couldn't breath.
"Let's hear what he has to say." Sugawara spoke up over the mumbles, taking most of the eyes temporarily towards himself.
Ukai nodded at the setter. "Let me explain. (Y/N) is transgender, female to male." The mumbles died down, but the water came flowing over the (h/c) haired's head, drowning him again. His fidgeting increased.
His secret was out. That's it. What would be the team's next move?
"We made an agreement. If Karasuno volleyball club still wants him on the team, knowing this and is willing to support him, he'll stay. But if the majority, or even just one of you disagrees to this, he'll be off. Karasuno has gone through a lot and bad blood within the team is something we don't need if it can be avoided. Understand that before you accept, Karasuno's reputation might get damaged if this gets known of too wide. Rumors can't be helped, but it could escalate out of control. Even if it's (Y/N)'s responsibility, out on the court, and as a team, you'll also share a part of that responsibility. Understood?"
The words were harsh, blunt and cold, but it was the truth. And if someone on the team rejected, it was game over for him. The agreement was to not be on the team, meaning he couldn't come back as a manager either.
Ukai let out a sigh. "Look, I understand that this might be a hard decision for you since you've all been together a while now. I'll give you kids until tomorrow practise to think it ov-."
"Is this some kind of lame joke?"
All eyes turned to the one who had spoken up.
Tsukishima.
(Y/N) clenched his fist, mentally preparing himself for whatever harsh words he'd receive.
"If that's all, I'm going home." The blondie turned his back to the startled group, walking away. Yamaguchi let out a small, panicked 'Tsukki...?!', following after him. After a few steps he turned around with a smirk. "Oh and by the way... You have my agreement to stay. It's not like knowing that will change anything, unless you're an idiot, like some people we got on our team who actually has to think this over."
