Y/N lazily spaced out while he watched Kageyama and Hinata beg the elder Ukai for 'just one more, then we'll finish up', as they said. Yeah, he highly doubted 'just one more' was all it took to satisfy them and so did the retired coach, but he nonetheless let them have their way one last time. The h/c didn't know how or why he had even agreed to tag along, but now that he had stuck around until the end, he might as well just see it through. 'Oh well... If you can't beat them, join them, I guess...', he thought for himself.
He watched the two males rise from their bow and followed them quietly back to their positions by the net. He waited for Shoyo's last spike. Earlier on he had spotted unfamiliar faces on the side-line, but decided to ignore the side-comments addressed about Kageyama. "Last one!" Tobio announced as Shoyo replied with a 'yeah!'. The trio got ready as the ball was set into the air by some kid, Y/N figured.
Observing Hinata charge forwards made e/c eyes glue themselves to the airborn ball. He greedily licked his l/c lips as the spike came down towards him. The power stung against Y/N's arms as the ball was gently received with a soft curve, gracefully arching towards Kageyama as he launched the ball for a second time, followed by a second quick which the short libero managed to tame the power of. The volleyball softly fell to the ground as the three first years grinned at each other. Neither of them needed to say a word. Their confident smiled said everything about the thrill, the burning passion, the endless hunger for growth and achievement. Those were the feelings they'd been searching for this whole session.
"Alright!! We did it!" Hinata proudly announced aloud for them all. Kageyama and Hinata turned quickly towards the old coach, but they were finally stopped. 'Thank Lord they didn't ask again... You said one more time three times ago, too.' The h/c shook his head a bit and dried his clammy forehead with the back of his hand. "I think we should go home, Shoyo, Tobio. Good work today though." He muttered at the fellow first years, recieving two thumbs ups from each of them. One more enthusiastic than the other, but both as satisfied. "I'll head home first then... Um... See you later then..." Y/N waved at them as he took his leave. He really hadn't brought anything with him other than himself and his phone. He didn't really think he'd need anything else when he was invited by Hinata who was going to do some extra practice with Kageyama.
It was already dark as the male made his way down the quiet streets on his way home. Lord, it gave him the shivers. What if something happened? One never knew when you're walking down a dark road all alone. Figuring this was both unrealistic and just anxious thoughts, he pulled out his phone in hope for some kind of distraction. He stared blankly at the screen as he had no plans on what he was even supposed to distract himself with. Luckily, his answer came as a message notification. Y/N wasted no time when he tapped on the pop-up banner on the top of his screen.
Takanobu
Good luck. Read
The sudden message slightly confused the male before he remembered the up-coming Spring High in August. When the light bulb placed itself as the last puzzle piece, Y/N lightly chuckled over his own forgetfulness. He typed in a quick reply. Despite the short message, it was specific and communicated exactly what he wanted to express. Takanobu simply wished him good luck in the tournament and sent his regards. A small smile curved itself on the libero's face.

Thanks! Good luck to you guy too. Read
No more replies were sent after that which made him wonder what to do or who to text next. Scrolling through his chats, he noticed one specific chat being as lively as ever. It was somehow relieving to see the group so energetic, especially during this time of the evening. Usually it was a pain, so Y/N had it on mute, but now he was grateful for the active memebers in there.
