I got home from a worse-than-normal day at school tired and ready to fall asleep, but I wandered into my painting room instead.

On the newest canvas was a girl holding a ball of yellow light in her hands. I was having trouble getting the light to realistically cast on her face, but it didn't look like trash. That was good.

I picked up the paintbrush and started painting in the lighting on her hair. it was hard, since some of it was different colors.

My phone buzzed on the desk. I carefully set down the brush and wiped the paint off my fingers.

Shirina: open your window

Me: what?! why?!

Shirina: JUST DO IT

Me: FINE

I opened the window and turned back to the canvas, but was interrupted by a loud "HEEEEEEEEY!"

I spun to the window and screeched, "WHAT DO YOU WANT--?!"

Standing in the window across from mine was Shirina.

"Hi," I sighed, "What?"

"I like that painting." She said, pointing over my shoulder.

"Thanks," I smiled. "I don't really like how it's turning out though, but I have to finish it or else I'm wasting paint."

"I'll take it if you don't want it." She offered, "It kinds of looks like me anyways."

That's because it's supposed to be you. "Ok, I'll bring it over in a few minutes."

Shirina nodded and shut her window.

I shut mine and turned back to the canvas, sighing again. I picked up the paintbrush and finished the painting, and luckily it didn't look too bad.

Once it'd dried, I picked it up off the canvas and walked over to Shirina's house.
