Cassidy Cade

Chapter 1

My names Cassidy Cade, Cassie, Cass, or CC. I have a few names. I live in the town of Tulsa Oklahoma along with my older brother whose sixteen I'm thirteen. Despite the three year age difference we're really close we kind of have too to survive, I don't know what I would do without Johnny.  

"Hey Johnny!" I ran up to Johnny, he was talking to Ponyboy by the flagpole in front of the school, Two-bit was also there with them.

He turned,"Hey Cass."

"Are you walking today?" They usually walk home from school, I ride the bus but I got in a fight with some girl and I don't want a round two.

"Yeah. Why?"

I bit my lip,"I was wondering if I could walk with you guys."

He thought for a moment,"Why aren't you riding the bus?"

I shrugged," You know Angela Shepard?" That was a stupid question everyone knows who Angela Shepard is,"Well earlier we got into a argument and she swung at me, I'm okay, but. . .she's not. And she's probably still angry soo. . ."

Two-bit chuckled and swung his arm around me,"Your kid sister can walk with us." Johnny shrugged,"Yeah whatever." 

When the buses exited we started walking. Johnny's gang knew me and I knew them but they weren't my friends, they were just his friends. Johnny says I'm too young to hang out with them I'M THIRTEEN and I will be fourteen in a month so I a not too young. The youngest boy in the gang, Ponyboy just turned fourteen so he isn't too much older. 

Ponyboy I know pretty well I'm in a few of his classes, I kind of skipped a grade because of that. When I was nine let's just say I had a small crush on him but him being my big brothers best friend it'll never happen.

"So how did you and Angela get rough? I thought you two were friends." Johnny asked slowing down a bit so he was at my pace.

I sighed,"Were friends. And it was over something dumb, she asked for it."

"Who started it?" Pony asked we had stopped walking and all attention was now on me. 

I sighed,"She was messing with me and when I told her to shut 'er trap but she kept on and got real mouthy  so I swung."

"I thought you said she swung first?" Johnny questioned.

"Well" I started,"I threatened to then she did and then I actually got her."

Two-bit chucked,"You dig okay CC."

I grinned then a bulb went off in my head I had nearly forgot," Hey Johnny can I borrow a few bucks?"

He furrowed his eyebrows,"How much?"

Nervously I bit the inside of my cheek and I answered his question,"four."

He cocked a eyebrow,"What do you need four dollars for?"

I sighed," I'll tell you later."

He huffed and fished three dollars out of his pocket," This is all I got."

"That'll do, for now." When I took the money out of his hand Ponyboy had a worried expression on his face.

"If you need the extra dollar I think I have one" I look at him in shock and I felt my cheeks get warm.

"I-I" I cleared my throat pulling myself together,"If you can spare one." I replied coolly he smiled and pulled one out.

I took it,"Thanks I'll pay you back as soon as I can."

"Don't worry about it" he shrugged.

"Well" I combed my fingers threw my hair," catch you guys later." I jogged off.

Even though Angela and I got in a fight I owed her a few dollars so I just wanna go ahead and give her her money so I can get it over with. A deals a deal. I have to admit it is a little dangerous, to approach a Shepard after a beef but I was hoping for the best. I walked into the drug store, that's where she usually is and sure enough she was.

I approached her,"What do you want? She asked bitterly.

"I remembered I owed you a few dollars" I took the money out of my pocket and added it to the other six I had then extended my arm she was hesitant but took it.

"A deals a deal and you know I'm always true to my word," I paused," unlike you."

"Excuse me" she looked up from the cash.

"You told me you wouldn't tell anyone and now your blackmailing me!" I shouted in anger.

She shrugged,"Fingers crossed."

 I clenched my fists,"CC?"

I looked behind me and saw Tim Shepard Angela's older brother and Dallas Winston,"What are you doin' here." Dallas asked stuffing his hands into his black leather jacket.

I looked at Angela,"Just takin' care of some business , I'm done now." I made my to the door and left I coulda swore I saw Angela grin, she probably did. I did nothing to Angela she got me at a vulnerable moment where I spilled my guts and now she's using it against me I hope her conscience tells her to keep her trap shut about my secret 'cause if she doesn't. . .I don't want to think about it.
