Chapter 6

Johnny's POV

Giggling she said,"Okay let's get out of here."
She walked over to the window," Wait." She turned.

"Johnny" She groaned with a frown etched across her face. Standing behind her I was holding the sling that Darry had made her.

"No" She whined. Ya know, sometimes she can be so stubborn.

"You have to wear it it'll help it heal faster." I instructed walking towards her.

She took a step backwards helplessly right running into the wall,"Nothing says weak and helpless like a sling, I'm fine! And besides it's fractured not broken." She tried to persuade.

It was then my turn to roll my eyes,"Cassie. You got hit by a CAR less than 24-hours ago. At least wear it for two days, it's still a fresh injury it can get worse."

She looked at me with hopeless eyes, she knew I was right. She gave me a tired sigh,"Fine." I grinned and help her put it on.

We were on our way to the Curtis's, we had left a few minutes ago after I convinced C to cooperate.

"So Johnny" I turned my attention to her as we walked,"What movie is playing tonight?" She asked.

"It's a movie about Bonnie and Clyde" I responded.

She stopped with a smile,"As in the romance between two criminals? In central America during the great depression? That killed anyone that got in their way or confronted? And got killed by law enforcement?" She smiled ear to ear,"Ooh I can't wait!" She jumped up in the air in excitement.

A few minutes later we got there it had taken us about five minutes to get there. I opened the door for Cassie and she walked through,"Hey what took you two so long?" Pony said walking into the living room.

He stopped in his tracks when he saw Cassie, "Uhh-"

Before Pony could say anything else she rubbed her arm uncomfortably, "I know I look lousy, you try putting on makeup with one hand!"

Pony swallowed, "I-I was going to y-you look nice." Her puples dilated and looked at Pony, they both were blushing and I was standing here like the awkward third wheel.

I cleared my throat rocking on my heals, "She does look fine doesn't she? Guess who did her makeup. " I said grinning.

Cassie shoved me to the side, "It was only mascara! AND only my left eye!" She shouted in embarrassment.

I laughed, "And might I just say, your left eye is on fleek, isn't that right Pony?"

We laughed Cassie flushed red but eventually laughed with us. A few minutes later the rest of the gang got there and we left on our way to the drive-in.

We went in through the side of the drive-in, underneath the fence, Cassidy stared at the fence in disapproval, "What?" I asked her.

"I can't climb under there. "

"Why not?"

She gave me a miss know-it-all look, "Because I'm wearing a white shirt, I'll get it dirty! AND this dumb sling."

I sighed, "So you want to go through the normal entrance and pay money?" I asked.

She laughed, "No! I'll just climb over" She said with a shrug. I was mentally yelling no because she was in a skirt but as long as no one is looking I let her.

I saw Dallas trying to sneak a glance,"Dude." I warned him.

He looked away with a chuckle,"Okay Johnny Cakes." Cakes? How did that start? Nobody says Cassidy Cakes or Cassie Cakes. Probably because her name starts with a C too like if her name was Rebecca, Rebecca Cakes? I don't know.

I was still on the outside of the fence watching her go over, normally I wouldn't be so cautious, but because her arm is half broken the sooner her arm heals the better. Pony was on the other side ready to help her when she gets to bottom, she was over and only a few feet from the ground Pony held out his arms and held onto waist she took a breath and jumped down into his arms.

I smiled, they would make a good couple. She thanked him as I was crawling underneath the fence then Dally tapped me on the shoulder, "Hey."

"Yeah?"

He pointed at my sister,"I guess it's true, girls will dress as if its summer all year round" I noticed him looking at her backside as she walked to the stand to get a coke and gave him a death glare.

"You touch my baby sister Dallas-"

"Chill, I'm not interested." He said still eyeing her like a piece of meat.

"Well then look at another girl's butt." I said aggressively.

Dally chuckled with a nod and I watched him walk away to talk some greaser gal. Once I saw him entertain himself I walked over to where Pony and Cassie were.

They had just sat down, and Pony was sitting next to her with his arm in mid air about to put it around Cassie, "Hey guys!"

Pony whipped his arm down, fast as a bullet. He cleared his throat, "Hey Johnny."

I chuckled and sat down on the other side of my sister, "Y'all miss me?"

Cassie shook her head with a giggle. It's been about thirty to forty minutes into the movie and so far we're enjoying it. I heard foot steps and looked behind us,  it was Angela.

She had just tapped Cassie's shoulder, Cassie turned her head and her shoulders dropped, "What do you want Shepard?" She asked bitterly.

I knew Angela and Cassie had gotten into an argument but what was it about? I had never asked. It must've been bad if Cassie had the nerve to call her by her last name.

"I want to talk to you" She looked at me and Pony, "Alone if you don't mind."

Cassie directed her vision back to the movie, "I'm actually watching a movie,  so, yeah,  I do mind."

Angela rolled her eyes and bent down to Cassidy's ear, her eye grew and clenched her teeth in anger, "You ARGH. "

She stood up with clenched fists, "I'll be right back."

Pony and I nodded,  when she walked away we looked at each other in worry.
