Chapter 12

Ponyboy's Pov

Ever since Cassie accepted Angela's apology everything went back to the way it was. I didn't get to see her unless it was in class, I'm happy for her I really am but... I'm kind of disappointed that she isn't around as much. But what can you do?

"Ponyboy."

" Huh? " The teacher snatched the paper from my desk, "What is this? Not school work I see."

My face turned red, "Um"

She read about half of my paper and raised an eyebrow at me, "I was going to make you read it aloud or serve detention, but because this is your first time and because the person you are talking about is in the room, I will let you off with a warning. Okay?"

I nodded, "Yes ma'am." I could hear snickers throughout the classroom and Cassie's giggle. It is strange how you can hear one sound out of 30 that is so quiet compared to the other's but yet... you still hear it.

Minutes later the bell rang and began to collect my things,"Hey!" I look up and Cassie's in front of me pip and perky.

"Oh hey." This is embarrassing, I sure hope she doesn't think that was about her. I pick up my things and we begin to walk, next period is lunch so we were walking to the cafeteria.

"Sooo what were you writing about?" She asked nudging me.

I sighed and looked at her, I opened my mouth to speak but shut it when I saw Angela running down the hall,"CASS! CASSIDY! CASSIE! LOOK YOU LITTLE TWAT!"

Cassie spun round when she heard Angela Shepard call her that vulgar name,"What?!"

Angela approached Cassie grabbing her hair she punched her in face. Cassie fell and Angela kicked her in the stomach, I dropped my books and grabbed Angela's arms holding them behind her back,"LET GO OF ME YOU- YOU"

Cassie stood up, and touched her face. When Angela had punched Cassie she had been wearing a ring and the ring had cut Cassie's cheek just bellow her eye... just like Johnny's.

When Cassie touched her face she looked at her hand and saw that she was bleeding. By now at least 6/8ths of the school had formed a circle around us. Cassie knew that what Angela had done was going to leave a scar, she growled,"WHAT THE HELL?!"

Angela was flaring her legs trying to attack Cassidy"I TOLD YOU ONCE AND YOU DIDN'T LISTEN! YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID!!! AGH LET GO OF ME YOU MOTHERFU-"

"Angela!" I let go of Angela and she fell to the ground at the feet of someone tall, he had a deep voice and looked like a senior. He was very tall, had shaggy blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

"B-Bryan?" My heart sank, this is Bryan?

"I'm sorry I didn't- she-" Angela was stuttering over her words... she's scared.

"It was a test." He interrupted her.

"I told you that I was cheating on you with Cassidy  so I could see if you had any self control. But look, look at her!" He grabbed Cassie by her arm.

He didn't take her forcefully but she went right when he touched her,"Look at her face! You didn't want to hear her explanation you just attacked her! I'm sorry Angela but... were're done."

"You don't understand Bryan." She tried to explain,"Not long ago I told her to stay away from you and-"

"Your jealous and insecure!" He shot.

"She likes you!" Angela blurted.

Everyone turned to Cassie and she turned more red than the blood running down her face,"That's not true." Bryan said in disbelief.

She shook her head 'no' with a laugh,"She does. She told me so."

"No I don't." Cass interrupted her.

"I used to, but I don't." She confessed.

Cassie swallowed,"And I told you that! A LONG time ago. But you only care about yourself, you didn't think about what you did to me! " She pointed to her face.
"This isn't going to go away!" Her eyes began to water,"I hate you. I don't why I accepted your apology" she growled.

Cassie began to walk away and Bryan tapped her arm and she turned, "Hey Cass, I'm sorry." Bryan apologized.

Angela was infuriated. She growled," I apologized because you manipulated me into feeling bad about your abuse, suicide episode, and your f*cking abortion!"

Cassie quivered," Ang-" she couldn't finish her sentence. Her legs gave out and she fell on her knees  crying. No one had seen her cry, only me and Johnny. And now the whole school is watching her cry and know her deepest darkest secrets.

I gasped and went to he aid, I hugged her tightly,"It's okay" I cooed.

Bryan growled at Angela and looked at Cass with sympathy but what he heard was too much for him to take in about his friend, he stormed off. Cassie kept crying uncontrollable tears,"I-I"

"Shh calm down." She heaved trying to talk through her tears," I ju- I jus- I just d-" I hugged her tighter,"Calm down, I'm right here and I'm sure Johnnys on his way." She stopped he attempts to speak and kept crying from the humiliation and the pain from the cut on her cheek.

Srry this story is so depressing but I'm gonna try to lighten it up a bit but... Ya know lol
